Default As Nato supply route reopens, Pakistani truck drivers fear for their safety
While truck drivers in Pakistan have welcomed their government's decision to reopen the Nato supply route to Afghanistan, they remain worried about their own security. The route was closed in November last year after 24 Pakistani soldiers were killed in a Nato air raid. There have been frequent attacks on trucks carrying Nato supplies in the past and militant groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban had threatened to attack these convoys if the route was reopened.
