So. Electric Six. They've been called "Punk", "Rock", "Techno", "Dance" and "Fairly ridiculous". They have earned all of these titles.
Everyone knows about their songs "Gay Bar" and "Danger! High Voltage!", but what you don't know is that they've released 7 albums, and are one of the most rockin' bands to ever pick up a guitar. They're from Detroit, and are apparently more popular here in the UK for some reason. Itmust be the sheer concentrated awesomeness of the lead singer, Dick Valentine. He makes Freddie Mercury seem tame. The three albums I've heard are Fire (which has the 2 aforementioned songs), Senor Smoke (Which has "Rock and Roll Evacuation" and "Devil Nights") and Zodiac ("Cluster****" and "It Ain't Punk Rock"). I suggest you all listen to these three albums. Then listen to whatever else by them you come across. |
