Default Ears
Hi

Just asking another question My ears have become almost painfully sensitive. I keep asking the kids to be quiet and turn the tv down to a level I think is fine and no one can hear it! I'm also finding it difficult to differentiate sound. There doesn't seem to be foreground and background noise anymore - everything just seems really loud. My ears feel like they are cringing all the time. There is no buzzing or ringing just really sensitive ears and too much noise!!!

Is this connected with all the meditation do you think? Or do I need a trip to the doctors?

Thanks in advance

My hearing have been painfully sensitive for years. I can't stand much noise around me and have become a near recluse because of it. A few years back I went for some specialised tests and came back with a diagnosis of Auditory Processing Disorder. The problem is not in the hearing... it's in the nervous system. Over the years I've heard of many people with the same problems.

I've come to believe that it is part of our energy systems changing and adapting as we all become more sensitive and attuned. It's not something I can do anything about but it is something I can manage. When I'm tired it is particularly bad so I have all sorts of 'coping strategies'.

Anyway, maybe this is not the case with you. I just thought I'd mention it.

All the best

Ah I never thought of that! I suffer from fibromyalgia which is a disorder of the nervous system. My nervous system has become over sensitised and fires off pain signals all the time so everything is painful - even wearing clothes can hurt when they touch my skin I wouldn't be surprised if it is to do with that, I shall get it checked out.

Thanks x
