The First time you can remember having an OBE

I was like 4 or 5... I woke up to very intense vibrations and I started lifting out of my body I couldn't move, and was very scared this was happening... I tried to call out to my mom and found I couldn't speak... I could see the room I was in and after a min. or 2 started flying around the room and then came to back in my bed... This was and interesting experience but I didn't think much about it at that age... http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo.../icon_cool.gif

I couldn't find it here so I copied it from another forum in which I had described it so here it is:
This is the first experience I had in which I realized what I was doing in the proper context. I don't think it was the first one though, because I had a lot of memories of going through portals and into different realms. However, at the time I was so young I didn't even know that these things weren't supposed to happen- I didn't have the 'proper' context, so to speak.
I believe I was 7 or 8- old enough to know the difference between a dream and 'such a different experience' but young enough to need a babysitter when my parents went out.
I hadn't seen my aunt in weeks, and was happy when my mom mentioned she'd see her that day. I was very dissappointed that I wouldn't be seeing her, because they were going to a party that children weren't invited to. So that night I went to bed angry because I wanted to see her. I woke up later, probably went to get up to get water, and found myself floating. That was wild! I floated to the door and outside. Then I drifted up to the wall (concrete) and went through it. It was an unforgettable experience. I could feel the rocks in the concrete, could feel and sort of 'taste' the texture. It was an experience in itself. Then I exited the house and zoomed in to the lady who was throwing the party. I went through the roof and could see my parents, my aunt, and other people that were friends of theirs. I don't remember what happened after that, how I returned, but the next morning I innocently ran to my mother and said that I had seen my aunt and loved the dress she was wearing, etc. She immediately got angry and red and was ready to chew me out -for a second she thought I had sneaked out of the house and managed to make it to the party...So I immediately explained that I got out of my body and flew there! She just stared at me and didn't say anything. Later on she must have talked to someone about it and verified that no one saw me (I think she thought I snuck in, because I described too many things about the party) so she got a bunch of books about astral projection, and then let me read some.
And that's my first recognized experience, but I believe I had been doing it, because I still remember points in my bedroom that I remembered having gone through (and navigating a different way to go 'somewhere else') many many times.

Thats cool she got you some info on the subject... I had to learn about it myself when I was like 14, and my parents laughed at me and still do to this day when I buy books about it... http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/icon_lol.gif

I was 5 or 6. I was floating through my grandma's house. I saw her sleeping in her bed. I felt really happy to be there with her. I remember a doll on her bed. A few years ago when she was buried, there was that doll near her coffin.

I was 12. My sister and I were going to the airport to to travel to Melbourne to holiday with family friends. I was excited about traveling by plane. It may have been a night or more before we were due to leave, I found myself flying through the airport. As we walked through it later, I knew where things were. I told my sister about it and was able to predict what we'd see at various points.

I knew a lot of things before they happened growing up. At about 12 also, there was a big school raffle and the prize was a colour TV. I turned to my friend Anne (she came from a poor family of 9 kids) and announced, "You're gonna win this." She did. I figure now these instances were probably the result of APs.

I think it would be really cool to know stuff before it happens... I'll just keep on practicing...

I think it would be really cool to know stuff before it happens... I'll just keep on practicing... Sometimes it is and sometimes it's not.

I was in my late 20s the first time I remember anything like an OBE. I had a dream that I was flying over a park that I knew was in Sydney, Australia. I didn't know anything about astral projection at the time, but I knew what happened was real. It was just like waking life. Never had a "dream" like that before.

As I was waking up I thought, Wow! Tonight I want to go to the moon! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...on_biggrin.gif http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/icon_eek.gif http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...on_biggrin.gif And instantly I was there! That shocked me and I was jarred awake.

My first one happened a few months after I became interested in obe's. I wasn't really trying for one at the time. Before this all my attempts had been failed exits, or ones that fear caused me to stop during separation. I just kind of realized I was out of body one early morning, becoming aware as I was standing in my living room, I knew it could not be a dream. I was able to look at my hands and see them as silvery forms that started to melt when I looked at them. Then I floated down the hall for a few feet, I quickly became too excited with what I was doing and woke up.
I had flying dreams every once in a while for as long as I can remember before my interest in obes, so I never really interpreted them as such.

I think I was about three. This was a spontaneous OBE, and I think I've onyl had about ten or so in my whole life(spontaneous ones). I got really scared because I was lying down on a couch at some party and I felt like I was being dragged out of my body. I saw a gorilla-like creature standing next to me and I got even more terrified. But then as soon as I looked at my body, I was in it and screaming my head off.

I don't remember alot, just that I was so terrified and scared at the time.

Oh, and my first OBE had an interesting effect on my pyschology...I've been afraid of gorillas ever since! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/icon_lol.gif(Reading Murder in Rue Morgue by Edgar ALlan Poe was not the smartest thing to do)

Ah! I was four years old (perhaps three but nearly four). I was in my bed, and then I was just outside my bedroom window (second floor) and looking at myself.

The funny thing about the whole experience was that I wasn't disturbed in the least. The most I wondered was if I'd get in trouble if I didn't get back inside.

How sweet are the perceptions of a child, serenity.

Arise, amazing avatar!

Indeed. I wonder what life would have been like had I been raised in a different household. Especially one open to astral and other such things.

Tinasblue 11-06-2007 02:05 PM

The first astral projections I remember having were shortly before or shortly after 9/11.

Apparpsmose 11-06-2007 02:35 PM

Ryan, the first I knew of 9/11 was an overwhelming dream encounter with hundreds of ghosts clamoring to tell me about their pain and sorrow. I couldn't take it past a certain point and woke up absolutely devastated to discover what had happened on my television.

DuePew 11-06-2007 08:50 PM

Which brings us to an interesting point- I wonder if a large impact event where many souls pass at the same time or a large amount of emotion is released at the same time, can this influence someone's psyche enough to cause a projection?
Unfortunately, this is the kind of experiment we don't really want to ponder, and derails the thread.
