Default do plants have feelings
This began in the spring when it was time to clean out and weed my rock garden. As I began to weed, I became extremely sensative to the ripping noise of the roots as I was pulling them up. I did finish weeding but since that day, I have not touched the rock garden and have let it run wild.

So I planted roses next to the brick patio about a month or so ago. It was my good fortune that there were very few weeds to clear as there was mulch where I planted the roses. After planting the roses, I noticed some weeds and grass sprouting up between the bricks on the patio and I started pulling them out. Again I was bothered by the ripping noise, as I paused I thought to myself "something living has struggled to take a foot hold in life in probably the only space available to it."

It is really nice when you can actually see a chain of events come about and brought to a head with affirmation and confirmation. This came about with Serendipity's offer of a reading using the guide of a plant life force. There is no question in my mind that plants do have feeling.

I guess it is all in how you balance things. Will I ever "weed" my rock garden again, perhaps but by letting things grow as they will, I noticed that there are some wild carrots growing there.

Neat post tink! I believe plants have feelings as well. I had a tree outside the house we moved out of maybe a month ago that I used to say hello to and I know she'd be talking back even though I couldn't understand what she was saying. Her name is Rowana...she seemed nice.

I am guilty as charged - I do weed my garden - I know that plants have an energy but didn't give weeds a second thought - what happens though when weeds take over and then your plants don't get the nutrients they need? I am a feeling person yet don't know if I can let go enough to let nature take its course in my garden.

Thanks for the thoughts Tink

In my opinon not to start a whole new subject but to me it goes back to nature and what we do to survive. If we don't eat meat...if we don't eat veggies...if we don't drink water....how are we going to survive. I guess it comes down to respect in knowing that something is alive and bleeds no matter if it's actual blood as we call it. It still bleeds wether it's in a clear form or blood. In my opinion I think everything has a purpose. Now should you pull weeds in order to help something grow...depends on how you feel about it. It's a personal thing....if you lose nutrients to your veggies and you don't feel right about pulling them out....plant them in another place and therefore everything will be fine. It might not be where they started from but could be a better place for them to prosper. Just like our life on earth. We are placed somewhere to begin but does that mean we have to reamin on the same path...NO. Ok, I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this but it's another way to look at things.

Love and blessings

Well said Capn, I think it was the intensity of the noise that threw me and got my very busy mind spinning. Weeding never bothered me up until this spring.

I wonder if we go through periods of ultra sensativity on various things. In any case, I will have to get in there and weed as I have some beautiful Clamatus that are going to suffer if I don't. (thank you very much Dee for pointing this out)

Silent, I googled the meaning of the name Rowana: Red haired and rugged. I thought this would be of interest to you.

i like to think that if it doesnt have an advanced nervous system, it doesnt feel any "discomfort" or pain. it may react, but not in a way that causes it discomfort. which is why i eat veggies all the time but not meat. besides. there'd be no reason to feel pain. its not like they can move or anything to get away from whatever is injuring them. a cow can run away from a fire, but a tree just sits there..

I have been working with Nature since April.

walking through the woods, sitting under trees and meditating and I will tell you they do have an existance...

Trees, flowers, schrubs and weeds they all have feelings, they all have a spirit and they all have their own elf and/or faeries.

How wonderful that you were able to experience such sensations from nature.

I agree that they have feelings. They also have energy that is put out into the Universe. We think of energy as coming from big things, but I think everything has a spirit/energy.

I don't weed because I'm lazy. My husband and daughter planted a flower garden in front of the house and they weed. None of us has weeded in a couple of months and it isn't as pretty, but the flowers have grown and still look beautiful!
