The other night when I was walking Paw around our neighborhood.... a pitbull mix comes running out of his/her house and comes running towards Paw, my son and I. My son was on his scooter doing his thing.. he was a bit ahead of Paw and I. Keep in mind that we had *passed* this dogs house and when passing by, we could hear the dog barking from inside the house. Well I didn't think anything of it and neither did Paw because the dog was inside the house.
Well as we passed by the house and was a few houses down, all I hear is someone screaming "come back here!" I looked back and saw this pitbull mix running towards us, I holler to my son not to come back my way because there was a dog coming towards us and for him to stay put.. because I'm thinking if my son goes any faster on that scooter the dog might want to chase him. I too was trying to just walk straight ahead and not look back but Paw kept trying to look back to see what was going on (him being nosy) I had to stop because the bark was getting louder and closer so I had to see how far this dog was from us. Sure enough as I stopped and looked back the dog then stops a good 5 to 10 feet away from us and starts barking at Paw, Paw was quiet for a moment and he didn't budge.. he just stood there looking at the dog and then he let out a deep bark twice and the dog then turned and ran back to his owner. I'm so proud that my dog did not budge or even try to approach the other dog, he just stood there standing his ground. This is the 2nd time my Paw stood his ground and did not go bazerk when he was approached by barking dogs. I just wanted to share that! ![]() |
