Shaking and enraged

First day back to school for me! I came home and unwinded a bit asked my daughter to take a walk with me and Tye- taught her how to secure his leash and how to go thru the door with him. We just start our walk up the road, people have a rotti and boxer on electric fence there dogs go wild Everythime I walk by, tye just continues walking looking ahead, next thing rotti comes charging thru the yard right threw the fence I immediately put myself in front of tye and walked towards the rotti and told him to "get". He starts lunging at me and foaming at the mouth my daughter panicks and starts to yell and the rotti makes his way around me and totally jumped on tye. I had no choice to let my leash go so he could defend himself, my daughter is now hysterical and by time I can make my way over and call "out" to tye , tye has this rotti by the neck and blood is pouring now I'm not panicking so much sorry to say cause its not my dogs who's getting the beating the rottie went down on his side and I called an out to tye and first time he freaking ignores my ass. Second time he released. Called him and handed leash to my daughter and said take him home now now I have injured rotti gettin up bleeding all over by the neck I went to knock on the door to get owners I told them what happened and the guy says why would u let your dog loose? Are you fucking kidding me??? Shall I allow him to be vulnerable while ur 120 lbs rotti lunged and jumped on my 9 mo old pit. I said your dog needs a vet now!! He said I can't believe your dog did that?? I said difference is my dog gets attacked he is bred to kill! There is no fight! I'm disgusted I've never ever let tye socialize with dogs without completely sound temperaments! So now I have to worry about DA in my 9 mo old and prob a vet bill to pay cause the guy said yea his battery died in his collar Saturday! I couldn't say another word I walked away came home and cracked a beer. Wtf???

Never give info out. I would have just said
"Your freaking dog broke through your fucking fence and attacked us! I'm calling the cops!"
Fuck the dog. If my dog broke out of the yard and attacked some other dog and got her ass handed to her, who's at fault here? My dog and me.
His BATTERY DIED!!!?? And why would YOU be libel for a vet bill? This is the rotties owners fault.
Hope your dog's ok

Your right! I've never been in that situation before! Guy knocked on door 19 stitches in his dog and said it was my fault i said I'm glad you realize that and I hope your dog heals quick bye!
Tye is fine- he panted real hard for a while he was excited and stressed but calm now! I think I'm more upset that he had been put in that situation after I've worked so hard to keep him around very sound social dogs! I can't even have my teenagers walk my damn dogs around here because everywhere there is electric fence with untrained and reactive dogs! From now on I'm carrying mase no joke!

I doubt "your" dog was bred to kill, did you mean your type of dog was bred many many years ago to fight other dogs?
Regardless not the best choice of words.

GOLAGLULT 08-14-2012 03:13 AM

fuck that guy hes gotta pay his own vet bills

Zjohkrbi 08-14-2012 03:22 AM

Oh jeez K, I'm so sorry this happened to you . How are you and your Daughter doing? Is Tye ok?

OixKKcj1 08-14-2012 03:30 AM

I hope your pup is doing good. I understand how in certain stressful situations sometimes the right words don't come out. Hopefully this won't happen again.
I have stupid owners next door to me too, two GSD. They are always loose, except last time there was an incident it was my 12 weeks puppy who had another dog's teeth around its neck (he was OK tho). I know how frustrated/angry/just fucking pissed you must be.
Best of luck to your pup and the other dog involved. Stupid owners. I wouldn't give that guy a penny.

PS: I start school tomorrow too. Nice to see another student around http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

ohgoodLord.

Who in their right mind would walk ANY dog near dogs behind an "electric fence"?

To ME, it's unbelievable that you would trust one of those that much.

Well sage brush- if I wanna take my dogs out my front door I don't have much of a choice there side property is directly in front of mine if I walk down to the left I get there back yard if I walk to the right I get there front yard. Not much of a choice and if I go straight I walk directly into there side yard, so not much choice there. Last time that rotti came thru I was walking all 3 dogs to my truck but tye was 4 mo and my kuvac stepped up

Yes me too! Thanks! Feel the worse for my daughter she was petrified and didn't know what to do! Tye is the baby of the house so it really freaked her out! I think it sucks that I gotta be surrounded by these idiots and last time the dogs battery was dead too! Never a problem otherwise. But saw him coming and I just knew he wasn't gonna stop! Ugh

There is an aggressive, loud, spitz-type just two houses down from me with an electric fence front yard. If I go right, there's a busy street. If I go left, there's the snarling, barking dog. So I always tried to sneak around the corner as quietly as possible. Because even our most dog-friendly dogs would get real puffed up at that dog.

About a year ago, I was driving down the road past that house and that dog was running around in the front yard, and it just ran out the electric fence to the neighbors porch! I slowed down to watch for a while and it went back to its own yard eventually. But ever since then, I just walk on the busy street or drive somewhere. WAY too dangerous.

Maybe make a habit of going through backyards? or driving to another neighborhood?

I totally agree on the back yard thing I can't cause I'm backed to the forest and bears and mt lions are worse than rottis lol. And on the drive yes I do most of the time but I had 40 min to walk him and get to the middle school to pick up my son from football and by time I get back it's dark. It's a catch 22 just annoying being back to school is gonna put a huge damper on my time with tye. Treadmill is sounding better and better

Sorry for your problem Kilsa, is very good that your dog and your daughter are unharmed.
Personally I don't agree with people that said you should not pass by this house or take other path, etc., you have the right to walk around your house in all safety (including obviously your family and pets),report to police or any other authority, whatsmore as you said even if you wanted the geographical configuration does not allowed you to take other path, so what should you (or your family) be prisoners of your own house? NNNNaaahhhh!!!!!
Good that your dog (as young as he might be) is a tough cookie and had the upper hand, the other way around would have been more devastating for you.
On a side note let me tell this little story, this happened in early 80's, I had big big Malamute (blue eyes and looked like a wolf) non neutered male, one day walking around a big big park next to home with my dog in the leash I pass by a man with a Cocker Spaniel, he's sittting a few feet from the path his dog is unleashed and run to my dog barking and snaping like a crazy mothef***r, I tell the man please restrain your dog, he does'n move, I repeat he doesn't move, I said if you don't take your dog I release mine, no reaction (for me 3 is the magic number before taking action), so I said to my dog go defend yourself Pops, and he just took the other by the neck, shake him three times like a rag doll, then realese it and the cocker run to his master yelping (no harm no blood or anything like that),point is if somebody start beating a friend of mine I will never hold my friends arms and let the other beat my friend, 2 choices I let my friend defend himself or if at a disadvantage I'll help him in battle.

I feel your pain. We have 2 nimrods in our neighborhood who have 4 dogs and I don't think they even own a leash.......nor an electric fence.....hell they have NO fence and just open the door and let the dogs run out willy nilly. 2 beagles one of which is a nerve bag, a papillon, and a very da unneutered Doberman. That dobie has jacked up a few neighborhood dogs, no idea how ac has not gotten involved. Can't walk my puppy anymore without fearing that thos behemoth is gonna come charging at us. Lemmys 9 mos and has never been privy to an altercation before, don't want him to start now. We mostly stick to playing fetch in the fenced backyard now with his Kong ball.
