Default Some people still manage to surprise me.
I take Garp on pretty long walks/adventures through Minneapolis. Today, our walk took us through a *different* part of the city. Here's the conversation that transpired:

"Yo what kind of pit is that? That a red nose pit!"
I don't know. He's the pound kind.

"ah yeah that's cool. He stud? I got a red bitch at home."
No, he's neutered.

"I'll give you $200 and second pick."
No, he's neutered.

"Ain't gonna change your mind?"
His balls are cut off.

"Oh shit! He can't fight then huh?"
No. Bye.

Yep. Sounds like the guy that told me he was GOING to buy my catch dog for sixty bucks. Some folks just don't have a clue.

Sheesh. We never get that kinda thing - Peanut is cute, but more terrier looking than most people that randomly ask about breeding are looking for.

DH's brother, after seeing a picture of her, did want a puppy. But he didn't know (yet) that Peanut was spayed.

I had an old lady ask me while walking if mine was the pit bull that got out loose the other day. I told her no, she asked if I was sure. Then proceeded to tell me that it was a brindle dog with very large manhood. While my tan, fixed dog is licking her hand.

...What? Apparently they are animorphs!

And I bet you didn't know they were nonfiction! However, now that you have a pitbull, you've realized your dog's magical powers:

He can change color/size/gender to resemble whatever dog has misbehaved most recently!

Honestly I did a better job of keeping my cool that I thought I would. I explained that it was rude to tell somebody that they were going to buy a dog and raise their voice doing it, and in a different setting other than right in front of somebody's house in a residential neighborhood it could cause things to get rough, as it may be interpreted as a threat or an attempt at intimidation. Plus a dog that does a job well is worth way more than sixty bucks.

We talk to so much about breeding "worthy" dogs. Why isn't breeding intelligent humans a possibility?
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but I was walking my dog and I came across an elderly gentleman. This guy tried to sell me some JRT puppy with “backwards feet” as he called it. He told me the vet wanted to put the puppies down but he thought they would be “fine” and grow out of it. This guy will be breeding in the future.
We really need more intelligent people around.

You can't just walk up to someone and tap them on the shoulder and say "You.........out of the gene pool!"
As much as we might want to at times
