Default Coco needs to be out of the shelter by 8 p.m. today
One of our longest residents, Coco, must leave the shelter by 8 p.m. tonight (6 p.m. for foster care). Coco's a gorgeous, sweet girl with a beautiful dark chocolate coat. Coco's incredibly human focused, knows tons of commands, and ...loves nothing more than to curl up in the grass with you for her favorite thing- belly rubs! Coco would do best as the only dog in the home....but she tested well with cats! Can you help us get beautiful Coco out before the day is done?

Hi there! My name is Coco (A16296205) and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm a 3-5 year old Terrier/Pitbull mix with a medium build. They call me Coco because my coat is a blend of two colors: dark chocolate and black. Just like... Hershey's Cocoa! Some of my favorite things include playing outside in the sun and grass, swimming, and getting backrubs. Oh, how I just love backrubs!! My previous owners dropped me off at this noisy shelter, but I haven't let that drag me down. I really enjoy meeting new people and dogs.
One of my best friends is Rachel, a volunteer at the shelter who calls herself my PenPal. She visits me several days a week and I look forward to the one-on-one attention she gives me. I've also visited her house and listened very well to verbal corrections, respecting her home and rules. She spends a lot of time in the back yard. I am always happy laying near her, watching the surroundings and patiently waiting for hugs. When we go for walks, I behave like a polite young lady when she lets me wear a harness. With the leash on, I sometimes forget she's on the other end and attempt to run. Oops! I'm still learning that behavior, but I am catching on quickly.

My attention span may be a little short, but Rachel is patient and gives me the best hugs and kisses when I behave, so I've started working to make her happy. She says I would fit best with an active family that can dedicate some time teaching me how to focus in over-stimulating environments.

Only two things make me a little nervous: riding in the car (I freeze!) and overly playful dogs (I'm learning how to play nicely). Also, Rachel keeps showing me things she calls "toys", but I'm not quite sure what to do with them. Maybe you could help me understand? If you think we'd have fun together, email Rachel today at the email listed above. You can also stop by to visit me here, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia, PA. If you have any children or dogs, I'd love to meet them here at the shelter before moving into your new home. So please bring them along with you when you come to meet me! Hope to see you soon ♥

If you’d like to learn more about Coco, please contact her Pen Pal at rachel.eisenman@gmail.com

Coco is still available as of Sunday due to a reprieve....but time is running out for her.

**EXTREMELY URGENT!** Coco is praying for a miracle. She's still with us thanks to 18 adoptions so far this weekend. But sadly intake is always high at ACCT and her days are numbered. She should be the only dog for now, but has lived with kids and is okay with cats. She is located at ACCT, 111 W Hunting Park Ave in Philly. If you are in a position to foster or adopt, please consider giving this girl a chance at a long life. Call (215) 713-4709, or email her Pen Pal at rachel.eisenman@gmail.com. The best way to assure her safety is to just go today to meet her. Please hurry, today is most likely her last.
