Today when I took Jud to the vet this morning, some kids not much older then I am looked at Jud, fell in love and asked if they could pet him. I said sure and then listened as one guy went about saying that He had a friend that has a female dog that looks just like Jud. Then jumped from that and said that He had to have been from a Boudreaux Bloodline because ... get this ... He has spots (Freckles). I blinked nodded wished them a good day and went inside. But Snow has Freckles too. So you want to tell me she Also has Boudreaux in her too? LOL....

I mean seriously?! You cannot tell a dogs bloodline just by a characteristic. I mean I know its extremely rare for a Colby to throw a red nosed pup, but its possible. So you cannot say a dog isn't a colby because it has a red nose (Example not fact). Again this goes back to the need for papers to tell a dogs bloodline (Though I don't believe one is needed to tell the dogs Breed). So I couldn't help but laugh. This was my day maker.

Anyone else have someone try and guess your dogs bloodline based on its physical characteristics?

I also agree you cannot completely identify a dog's bloodline simply on characteristics, HOWEVER I do think there are SOME bloodlines that ARE super strong and you CAN tell by just looking at them... Gaff, RE, Gotti, Ruffian, and Michl R to name a few.. Of course it is not ALWAYS in stone, but I have picked out and guessed bloodlines and been right almost every time..

Had somebody tell me my old Chico dog must be Old Family Red Nose because he had red toenails.

phoenix is colby because hes brindle (according to the base gate guard)

Em gets OFRN all the time simply because she has a red nose. She's just a BYB mutt. I have no idea what her bloodlines are.

I have been told several times Harley must be part boxer (when I say hes just a mutt) because hes thin.. apparently thats the only breed thats thin? lol
