My 3 dogs are indoor dogs as well. Where I live they have to be, with their short coats they would not make it through our winters.

My 2 bullies were 24/7 indoor, only outside to walk, play and pee. My new pup will be the same.

Just ask my Dad. I live in a big dog house! They are even nice enough to let me share the bed!

they make great housedogs...mine are only outside because 1 its not my house and my parents (that own the house, do not live here but own it, and my dad is allergic so I stick to the rules most of the time) don't want them inside and 2 because I have a new baby, its way better to know I am not ganna trip on either dog that love to walk right next to me wherever I am. my 3 year old boy is actually fully potty trained and my 11 month old boy is almost potty trained, they know the "go potty" command they just are not alloud in the house most of the time
You talk so passionately about your dogs I thought you were talking about children at first.

My dog is a house dog. He's great and I couldn't imagine it any other way. I always swore I would never allow a dog to sleep in my bed with me. Now I have my husband, my 3 year old daughter, the dog and myself in one bed. It's only a full size lol.

Mine are inside/outside dogs. They sleep inside at night and they randomly come in to my room when I'm home, depending on the weather/my mood/if I want them inside. I love inside dogs but sometimes I need my space! Lol.

I'll probably always be this way. I plan to teach any dog future dog to enjoy being outside, rather then inside 24/7 while I'm home.

All of my 3 dogs are house dogs. They would die if they were 100% outdoors. Our winters are so harsh here in Montana. My Rottweiler mix, Jenny (RIP) prefered to be outside and lay on the lawn or in the snow but she also loved being inside as well. So she was also a house dog.

Mine are inside dogs. They go outside to play and potty. And i'm out there with them. They are NEVER ALONE outside. I live in a house in the city. I refuse to let my dogs be a victim. I'm not knocking the people that do. I just refuse to have my dogs stolen, abused, escape, or get in a fight with each other. I promote chain spots, and kennel runs for the people that situations allow or calls for it. But my situation doesn't call for it

All 4 of mine act like I am killing them when I have them go outside! They are very spoiled,100% inside, ac on high dogs!
Wow, I see we are very similiar. We also have AC just for our dog. We have 3 AC's, one of which is in our bedroom just for our dog. That's the room he is contained to when we are out and about. Nice to see someone is as crazy as I am. I can't even complain about my electric bill being $80 more in the summer to my mother, unless I want to hear "Well if you didn't have an AC just for that ugly looking dog you wouldn't have this problem"

Mine are indoor/outdoor.

We spend the majority of our time outside anyways, but if I have to go somewhere and the weather is nice, I've got several chain spots and tethers for the dogs who enjoy laying in the sun rather than being crated. If I have to go somewhere overnight, chances are they are staying on chain spots or tethers so they can potty/drink water whenever they want.

My pit and my mongrel are both classed as 'house dogs', or even 'bed dogs' because they would take over my bed if given the chance...They stay outside when i'm outside, although they do LOVE to be outside, unfortunately at the moment i'm now stuck in an apartment were we don't have a yard. Luckily, my father in law i see daily and as soon as i go down with my pups they're straight to the back door to be in the yard. They love it. I can not wait to move. Perfect dogs to be house dogs, as long as they get the exercise.

Not quite the lap dogs they pretend to be....

But i love them, regardless.

My two are indoor/outdoor.

Diesel stays outside when I am working in his kennel. I also, like the above poster, live in the city and I will not let him roam free in my fenced yard. It is too dangerous. He could jump my fence, turn on my other dog.. I will not set him up for failure. My other dog does run free in my fenced backyard though. I keep the two separated.

While I am home they stay inside, and sleep all night indoors.

Mine are outside dogs. Beau has always been an indoor/outdoor dog, preferring the outdoors and Takoda is outside only....

Mine are outside dogs with the exception of my wife's bulldog that spends the majority of her time inside. There are a few that come in on occasion but they spend almost all their time outside in their kennels.

My current two dogs are inside 100% of the time.

In the past, I have owned outside dogs. There's nothing wrong with it if you do it right. I just prefer to have them in the house with me.

Ours are mostly indoor dogs, I have a small fenced in backyard that they spend probably six hours per day in, chasing squirrels, rabbits, playing with the kids etc.
Joker prefers to be with me, always. He will potty, and putter around a bit, but then he wants in if I am indoors.
He was introduced to our home in the winter. While potty training him, it was challenging on the really frigid days. He peed inside, beside the door a few of those days. I bought him some sweaters, and it soon resolved. He wanted nothing to do with the outdoors then.

I have dogs as companions. Their job is to amuse me, comfort me, and keep me company. They wouldn't be able to do that the way I want if they were outside dogs. So, all 4 are house dwellers.

We like having our house dog ,Lulu, inside. Call me crazy but it just seems like a little calmer house with a lazy ol bulldog around.
