Default another dog... dun dun dun.
I may or may not be acquiring my first dog with a known pedigree.I would be co-owning her as she will stay at a friends, and when we buy a house I will take over full ownership. It's not a done deal, but something in the works. I'm trying not to get too excited because there's nothing written in stone yet. The dog comes off a yard that breeds strictly for keeps with very little exceptions. The owners hunt with their dogs and only breed the best off their yard when they need dogs. This guy has been into his lines and dogs for years. He used to register with the UKC/ADBA but I'm not sure if he still does. I also know he has years and years and years of handwritten pedigrees and years and years and years of knowledge poured into him by some pretty amazing "bulldoggers". He has ONE dog, ONE dog! from a litter this year that he was going to cull but I had asked him about the dog... why the need to cull it/what was wrong with it. The dog has a very slight over shot, but she is only 4 months old right now. And she may be slightly less driven to hunt hogs than the rest.None the less, I have been keeping my eye on this dog for awhile now, and decided to make arrangements with my friend for co-ownership so I could have a place to keep another dog. She is also knows a lot of the breed and LOVES them to death and I'd see the dog every day. So I decided to jump back in for a chance at the dog. Just waiting for some more info from him and we'll see what happens! Also I am wanting to ask more about the lines these dogs are off of, if anyone might know a li'l more about them than I might. There's a lot of Clouse, Patrick, KZB[Kizenbaw], on most of his dogs papers. I do know the sire/bitch are sister/brother off KZB Kidd Blackie and IWK Cottonmouth breeding as well. He is a very selective breeder when it comes to line breeding and I trust his judgement and his ability to do a fine job! I'll try to find a pic too!

Looks like some nice dogs. The litter was actually born ON Valentines Day this year, 14 February. Some of the pups are Rox, Black Ninja, Ms. Valentine and Pantrid.
As you've mentioned, they were not bred as show dogs. They are working/hunting dogs. I don't know if she would get along with Leon or not ... or your little dog (can't think of the name right now DOH)

Yeah I have noticed A LOT of nice names on there for sport, def. wouldn't expect anything in the show ring out of this girl especially with her overshot/bite, but they do have some pretty good conformation on their yard here and there. But I am interested in a sport dog. I am thinking of weight pull mainly and maybe something like Dock Dogs with both her and Leon once we're in the city. Been getting Leon out swimming A LOT this summer! Edmonton, 5hrs away has a club and we're looking into moving there sooner than too much later.I def. expect some real Dog Aggression out of her, which is why I will not bring her into my home until I have my own place with a full yard/land so that she can have a proper kennel and chain spot with a area in the house blocked off for her when we do get a place... but at my friend's she'll have free roam and a decent yard. If she works out, I will be ecstatic! If not, there will be something else for me later on. If she works out, then my next addition will be a dog for conformation then I think I'll be maxed out with 4 lol.and it's MACI! lol

MACI !!! ... shoot ... I knew that HA !!!

I dunno ... it sounds a little impulsive. LOTSA nice pups will still be out there to be had once you're settled in a place where YOU have total control. But hey ... if it's the right thing to do ... go for it and Good Luck !!!

I would say don't get a dog JUST to get a dog. If you are financially in a place to get another one, and have the resources then do it. Good luck.

This has been in the works since the litter was born back in Feb. I definitely could not just do something like this on Impulse.
I haven't been very vocal on PBC lately, but that definitely doesn't mean I haven't been around or doing my research.
Financially, I could take on as many dogs as I want lol... but space wise I've only got room for one more, but a co-ownership would be ideal so that this dog can have her own space until we can set up a kennel/chain spot.

I've also had the opportunity to take a nice American Bully, and it has been a teeter totter between the two because the APBT is for sport and the Am. Bully would be a show and sport. And I know I know, to most there's no such thing as a nice Am. Bully lol, but to me there is. So with a lot of though, and taking my time, even still, the right dog will come along and be mine. But I really am hoping for this pup!

Thanks! If this dog doesn't happen to work out the American Bully is next in line, he is supposed to be a conformation prospect and I'd also put him into Weight Pull. But the APBT is my first choice, I am researching Air Lines that allow Pit Bulls to fly unaccompanied...Internationally otherwise I will try work out an accompanied flight in September.

Whether one of these dogs works out or not, I just feel honoured enough that this guy would let me have one of his dogs and I know he would keep me in mind for future breedings if this happens to fall through. His dogs are gorgeous!

Some very nice working dogs there and I certainly couldn't say they would do poorly in conformation either.
I guess the next question though is ... is the pup registered or could be registered ??
I know you said the breeder used to register but aren't sure if he still does or not ... but that would be a pretty big concern if sanctioned events are something you'd like to try.

With this dog I would not be looking to do anything Sanctioned so the actual KC registration does not matter to me. He used to be a member of Pedigrees Online but had a big fall out with them and the HSUS. I just shot him a message today to get some more info/specifics on her I'm not saying a dog on these lines couldn't do conformation, but since she is overshot I doubt she could get far. I'd have to read more into it, and see if it corrects as she grows.

APA is supposedly the best WP "venue" and no reg papers are needed.. which im sure you may know, just giving a heads up about it. good luck with the pup if you get it!

Good to know
This is such a hard decision... I have had my eye on this litter since they were born. He is offering me the dog at no charge, simply will ship her to me and if I want to pitch in on the flight I can, which I would. It's hard to say yes when I can't meet the dog. It's hard to say no when I know she is bred for sport! So touuuugh!

I suppose I could bring her up here, see how she does and see if she is really the right dog for me, if not it's only $175 to ship her back.... but that is a lot of stress on her flying alone twice and going from him to me and back to him :/
