Bob Wallace. He had some beautiful old family red nose dogs (Wallaces Red Brave, Red Rock, Red Rube and Red Poncho) not to mention some of the best pit dogs of his time( Wallaces King Cotton, Wallaces Toney, and one of my favorites Wallaces Searcy Jeff). I would love to talk to him about these dogs and learn more about them.

Bert Clouse! Not as well known as some others but would be interesting to chat dogs with him for sure. He was known as a "gentle giant" and Mr. Patrick seems to have liked his blood well enough. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/wink.png

Also, there is a gentleman who lives in Ontario who's yard was based off of the Clouse/Mayfield dogs and they were some fine animals!

I'd have to go with JP Colby as well and meeting Lou only fueled that fire http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/tongue.png I think he and his bulldogs had a substantial impact on the breed in this country.

When my Colby book comes in i'm going to have to send it to you Tat and get you to get Lou's autograph for me http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

If you could go back in time and hang out with a dogman

If you could go back in time and hang out with a dogman and learn about the breed, who would it be and why?

My Uncle Bob......he was THE Dog Whisperer before there ever was such a thing. Never had to lift a finger or raise his voice. He had the "gift".

ivandiadser 11-30-2007 12:48 AM

I know this is typical, but I'd meet with JP Colby. I don't think there's been anyone that can teach you more about a bulldog than that man.

I'd like to hang out with FB in his younger days.. I bet he was a hell raiser http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png I'd love to pick his brain and have a few glasses shine with him

not a bad choice either...he's still around though that's why I passed on him. To talk to Mr. Colby would be bringing back some possibly lost knowledge IMO.

Phywhewashect 09-06-2012 05:27 PM

i would have to go with joe corvino.
