Default Arguing in circles >.< (long rant)
So a little bit of back story -

When I had my bull terrier bitch, I dated a guy who really loved bull terriers and had always wanted one. I got him a mini bull bitch, and he got to learn about crate/rotate (our bitches didn't get along), hours of fetching, training, etc. When we split up, he kept the mini bull bitch.

Fast forward a year and a half - He wakes up one morning to let the mini bull out, and she's dead in her crate. He doesn't get a necropsy done.. just has her cremated.

Then he starts looking for another dog (not in a heartless way). He applied through a bull terrier rescue, and eventually got an awesome male who is exactly what he wanted.

Fast forward to two months ago - He tells me he's getting another bull terrier from rescue, a mini bull bitch. He tells me he remembers everything I taught him about crate/rotate, etc.

This morning, he texts me saying the dogs got into a fight for absolutely NO REASON () and what does he do about it? I tell him to keep the dogs apart. He then starts going on about how "game" his male is - "more game than any other dog I've ever seen that wasn't bred to fight", is what he told me. I told him that "gameness" is not just the desire to fight, and that he has two terriers and needs to really be on top of managing them. He tells me to stop being so "high and mighty"... that he SWEARS his dog was TRAINED to fight and do I know any trainers who can undo that training. So I told him, again, that his dogs are TERRIERS and fighting is perfectly normal for them. He tells me I'm not listening to him, that the dog was TRAINED for it because he KNOWS what he's doing. Oh, and because he apparently knows commands in German and only police dogs and dogs trained for fighting know German (guess all my dogs are fighting dogs then ). I tell him to simply keep the dog away from other dogs, but he says the dog is great with all other non-aggressive dogs. I told him that terriers won't back down from challenges, so that's pretty normal. Then he tells me that's like saying a guy who likes sex will have sex with anything that lets him I told him, you can't compare people and dogs like that and his example makes no sense. Then he says that I'm making a general statement, and that it would be like him saying all Pit Bulls are killers

So now I'm just getting pissed off, which is exasperated by the fact that his texts are incoherent at best and I have to ask three times what the fuck he means before it makes some sense. I finally asked him what the hell he wants out of this conversation, and he says he wants a trainer, because he wants to know what else the dog has been taught that he hasn't figured out yet I told him the dog is from a rescue.. You don't know WHAT went on with that dog before you got him, so just go with it and worry about the future not the past. But apparently I'm just an unhelpful, arrogant bitch who refuses to give him the name of a trainer that I MUST know up there.

The Reader's Digest version - His male bull terrier is dog aggressive, and he swears the dog must have been trained to be that way and refuses to acknowledge any other idea.

I am sure its not as bad as your making it sound.. AS in he is not here to bring up all your ridiculous statements, actions or even to defend himself.. A bit one sided.. When two people are having a difference in opinion. The truth is usually somewhere inbetween. An obviously you chose to date this wonder boy didn't you . But Rant away!

I don't know WHY he got the second dog. He's ex-military and not quite all there... so who the hell knows what he was thinking! The only thing he wants to hear from a professional is how to "untrain" his dog's issues with other aggressive dogs. Which is odd, because when him and I were together we had numerous conversations about genetic dog aggression levels O.o

So...this guy is drop dead gorgeous right?

No... But I REALLY liked his truck

Because you were not getting intellectual stimulation out of the deal.

Why do you think it didn't last?

(well, that.. and he told me I couldn't get the Great Dane I wanted )

This guy is a moron.. Tell him I'm sorry he grew up owning dogs small enough to fit in his purse! If he doesnt know how to handle raise and redirect the behavior of a bull breed dog then he doesn't need to own one.

OT = I've never understood why people buy MTs for road driving and then complain about the noise.

Sounds like a person who should not be owning 2 dogs. i think one should have been fine for him atleast untill he did some homework first.

maybe it would be best if you could steer him toward a good trainer maybe if he had a "proffesional" telling him instead of you he would listen though for some reason i doubt it..
