Every Banfield is a bit different. I've heard of both good ones and bad. We take all 3 of our dogs to the local Banfield and have never had a problem with them. Always had nice people and they have always taken good care of my animals.

There's a thread here somewhere that discussed different people's experience so you might want to search for that and give it a look over. In the end I suggest you go to the local one and see what you think of them and then make your own decision.

Good luck with your pup!

If its a free check up then what's the big deal! LoL! Just go with your free check up and ascertain for yourself whether they are worth paying for! Good luck!

Is there a catch?? I'm always weary of "free" things, especially when it comes to my dog and my dog's health.

If it's free, go for it. But be very wary of upsells

The visit IS free. But they WILL try to convince you to buy EVERYTHING and there prices can be high. And like others have said the quality can very A LOT

The SPCA gave me a free first vet check when I adopted my cat. It went fine but it was at an actual local clinic.... don't know if that makes a difference.

the one i took Peanut too was BAD BAD BAD. He stayed for a bath once. I took him back for his final puppy shots after that he screamed the ENTIRE time he was in there. He was literally screaming and wouldn't let anyone near him. He still will not go near the banfield when i take him into that petsmart and its been almost 4 years! i have no idea what happened to him but he is scared to death of them, i take him to a much better vet now (had all his records transfered immediately after the screaming incident) and he still shakes and is scared in his new vet when we walk in and they are always nice to him.

be wary of the upsales for sure.
