Default Dog Breed Information.
I'm creating an anti BSL website, and on the website i'd like to have information about commonly banned breeds, fighting breeds, and gaurdian breeds.Focussing mainly on temperment. I've been doing research and i was able to come up with a summary of some of the breeds. This isn't my final peice so grammar may not be correct please excuse any errors, and i'll be adding information to some of the breeds that i have already started, I'm posting this here because i want commentary, is they anything i should add? Something that has been proven innaccurate? Ect...
THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER

The American Pit Bull Terrier is a working breed, a working breed like no other. The ultimate canine athlete that excels in all dog sports. This is a breed that wants to please it’s owner, and will do anything to make their owners happy/
The American Pit Bull Terrier makes a great family pet,for an experienced or knowledgeable dog owner. This is not a dog for everyone as it has a strong prey drive and is very energetic. American pit bull terriers are also prone to being dog aggressive, a responsible pit bull owner is always sure to carry a break stick and crate their dogs when not around to supervise. Dog aggression IS NOT the same as human aggression. This is a breed that loves children and loves people, any aggression in an American Pit Bull Terrier is an undesirable characteristic, and any dog that displays human aggression is not a good representation of the breed and should probably be put down.
American pit bull terriers are clowns, along with most of the bully breeds, they have a personality like no other.Though they are clowns they are very intelligent. The American Pit Bull Terrier is not a guard dog, it’s been said that if someone were to rob your home the American pit bull terrier would probably roll over for a belly rub, and go along with the robber for a ride. Of course the dog may protect it’s owner, if their is a threat, but it isn't a guard dog, and if you're looking for a dog that will naturally protect you and your property you should look elsewhere.
You could walk into a back yard with an American pit bull terrier and walk out with it wagging it’s tail right beside you.

AMERICAN BULLY
The American Bully is a lot like the American Pit Bull Terrier, in the sense that it's a happy people loving dog. They are confident friendly dogs, And their stockier figure just adds character. While a lot like the American Pit Bull Terrier,They are not the same dog,American bully's are generally a mix between American pit bull terriers and American Staffordshire bull terriers sometimes other bully breeds and mastiffs as well.I wouldn't say the American bully is a "breed" just yet, there needs to be a more set standard.Well bred Am Bully's are generally a beautifully built dog with a killer smile. The Am Bully tends to be less dog aggressive than the APBT, but the dog is still a bully breed and needs to be watched around other dogs, an owner of an American bully would be wise to carry a breakstick as well. The American bully is a breed that loves life, are great with children, and generally great with everybody. As with the American pit bull terrier they are not the best breed to have as a guard dog. Though they may not be as athletic as the American pit bull terrier, they should still posses the ability to work, to move. Some people take the breeding of these dogs to the extreme and the poor things can barely move.

American Bull Dog
American Bull dogs are very confident, outgoing, and generally friendly dogs. They are devoted to their owners and make great dogs for children, and a generally gentle dog. They are a fearless breed and would defend it’s family from anything. And like all bull dogs they need to be watched around other dogs. The American Bull dog is also a very athletic breed, which excels in many dog sports. The dog may be a bit reserved around strangers, while they may also be extremely friendly, they should never be hostile or aggressive towards people. They are usually calm, determined and very loveable. You know the dog from homeward bound? Chance? He was an American Bull dog

AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER
The American Staffordshire terrier is a dependable,-good matured, loyal dog. This dog is also a very people loving dog, much like the American pit bull Terrier. But again may also have some dog aggressive tendencies. The Am Staff is less energetic than the apbt and doesn't have as strong of a prey drive. The Am Staff can be stubborn but with a dedicated owner they do very well. They are very smart dogs and like to have something to do. The American Staffordshire terrier, is generally a bit larger than the american pit bull terrier. A lot of individuals have a hard time telling the amstaff and the apbt apart

The Alaskan Malamute
The Alaskan Malamute is a strong dog that needs a lot of exercise. Bred to pull large cargo over long distances the Alaskan Malamute makes a wonderful weight pull dog today. A malamute can be very aggressive towards other dogs. And should be socialized from a young age or it’ll be difficult to train it as an adult. To a Malamute a lot of small animals are just “prey”, A Malamute is a very friendly dog to people by nature and isn’t the best guard dog. Even though the look of a malamute may scare away most intruders.A malamute needs a strong dedicated confident owner, and isn't the best choice for inexperienced dog owners. Be prepared for a lot of shedding!

The Akita
The Akita was originally bred to be a hunting dog, but in later years was used for fighting. An Akita will guard you and you’re family if there is a real threat. And They will try their best to protect you from ANYTHING. The akita has a very high drive and needs to be watched closely around other animals. Because anything smaller than an akita is fair game.Akitas have a tendency to be dog aggressive especially with dogs of the same sex.Akitas are a very dominant breed but disciplined well you will get an akita with a great temperament. An akita can make a wonderful family dog if trained properly (along with all dogs) they need a strong dedicated owners.Akitas are very family oriented dogs and in some cases will be reserved around people outside of the family the dog should not be out right aggressive though. With proper training they have been known to make excellent therapy dogs.

The Aulstralian Cattle Dog
The Australian cattle dog is a bold dog, that needs plenty of exercise. Bred to be a herding dog, they are dogs that may “herd” your children or others if not given proper stimulation. They are definitely not apartment dwellers. They are a dog that needs a strong handler who wants an exercise partner. These are working dogs that NEED something to do, I don’t know if I can stress that enough with these dogs. They wont be happy to sit around all day with a 30min walk. If you get one of these dogs you should probably be prepared for some sort of sport, whether it be herding trials, or agility. This is an intelligent dog, and is a traditional working dog, that hasn’t yet been destroyed by the major show lines. They are an independent dog and they don’t need people to fawn over them, they don’t demand attention from their owners.
They are generally good with other dogs, but certainly not one to back down from a challenge, so early socialization and close watching when with other dogs can help prevent any dog on dog combat.
This is a dog that needs all the people in the family to work consistently with them, or they may just bond with one person and simply ignore everyone else. But overall this breed is highly responsive and very very smart. They need high levels of physical and mental exercise EVERYDAY (similar to the border collie). They have been bred for years to work every day regardless of weather, again they need something to do. They are not a quite breed and will let you know if they are bored or if someone is there.
They are a wonderful breed but not right for everyone. Just like any other breed, do your research if you are ever interested in adding one of these beautiful intelligent animals to your home.

The Ban Dog
The Ban dog or “bandogg” was bred to be a close quarter combat dog, a large game hunting dog,as well as a guard dog. They make wonderful family dogs for experienced dog owners. They are easy to train, have a friendly disposition, love children, and are very devoted to those in it’s family, it was a dog that was bred to serve. They are eager to work, and excel as personal protection dogs.
They are a calm dog but will defend you if a bad situation arrives. They are very stable dogs, when raised properly they are great with children who love to play and work, but also calm and gentle dogs. Easy going dogs with a high tolerance for pain. They make great family dogs and are accepting of new people, but distinguish a friend from a threat very well.

BELGIAN MALLINOIS
Originally bred as a sheepherding dog, the Belgian mallinois is an high energy working dog, popular in both police and military work. These dogs excel in obedience, schutzhund, herding, agility, sledding, and tracking. These are intelligent dogs, and very trainable. They are definitely a dog that is happiest when it has work to do . They are natural protectors but not overly aggressive. They need a confident experienced dog owner.
Mallinois are generally great with children and other animals, but they can be protective, possessive, and jealous. They love attention. Also because this dog is a herding dog they like to chase moving objects, which could be a bike,a car, another animal, a child, they need to know what can and cannot be herded. Again they do best in homes where they can work
The Malinois needs to be socialized with different people and dogs, so it will be willing to accept them later in life. Obedience classes and puppy socialization classes are recommended for this breed. They are very attached to their family, and are sometimes described as “needy” and “clingy”, The temperament of the breed varies, some may be very friendly and bold while others are somewhat reserved and aloof with strangers… being reserved is different from being fearful or aggressive these two traits are not acceptable in the breed and not part of the breed characteristics.

Boer Boel
The Boerboel was originally bred to hunt big game, protect ranches, and to be a family guardian, it’s said to be the only dog specifically bred to guard and protect without being aggressive. They are sensitive dogs, they know whether you approve or disapprove and easily recognize fear. They will protect you when asked or if they detect hostile intentions/situations but they are not a dog to confront everyone in an aggressive manner…In other words they are only aggressive when they need to be
A calm, loving, intelligent, trainable dog, with strong guarding instincts that are self confident and have a deep devotion to their owner they make wonderful pets…But they do need a dominant owner, they love children and would be a child’s best friend. They are one of the best family dogs, they live for their owner and their only desire is to be close with their owners. They have an uncanny ability to sense what their owner is feeling as said before and will judge a stranger upon how it’s owner feels..socialization for this breed is important along with all other breeds.
