I saw this on FB. The "Guilty until proven innocent" people posted it. What got my panties in a bunch was the comments.
http://www.facebook.com/GuiltyTilProvenInnocent For those that don't want to read it, a Pit Bull got loose and escaped her yard then attacked and killed a Chihuahua. The Pit Bull was 18 (allegedly) and the Chi was 16 (allegedly). The PB owner says he has no idea how she got loose and no idea why she was aggressive to the other dog. The kicker? She was being kicked and hit in effort to get her to let the Chi go and did not harm the humans hurting her. But because the owner doesn't understand DA or proper containment, he says he is putting her down. Somehow, from video or pic, the FB commentators decided the PB was chained and that's why the incident happened. Never mind the breed tends toward dog aggression. Never mind that this is a genetic trait. Around 30 people were saying this never would have happened if the dog were allowed in the house, kept unchained, socialized and loved. Even though there was nothing in the written article or the video that suggested the dog was always chained and not allowed in the house. Why can't even the PB lovers understand the traits of the breed they tend to love and understand that genetics play a role? Why can't they understand that a chain spot is a valid containment tool and place the blame on the owner who failed to keep his equipment in good order? But noooo, it's all the chain's fault! |

O god, I did. I almost died when I saw that. I'm interested to know how often they allow the dogs around crust together. I'm sure she'll learn one day.
Did you see the comment from Christ Oliver, the one about Faith?. That seems to be a accident waiting to happen. I don't know if Faith is a Pitbull but it seems she is a big dog. It just amazes me how ignorant people can be. |

I know, Carla. I saw the word "pibble" in comments twice and had an unreasonable urge to strangle someone. I'm really starting to go with the "stfu. The first rule about Pit Bulls is you don't talk about Pit Bulls" crowd. All these "advocates" who jumped on the breed bandwagon as the cause du jour are doing a lot more harm than good.

Barbara, I am not trying to be an asshole or a smartass but this is a load of crap
First they were bred for taking down boar, then it was dog aggression because when bull baiting was outlawed, they turned to fighting them in a pit. Dear lord. ---------- Post added at 04:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:42 PM ---------- And yes, alot of these people do far more harm than good. I friend of mine told me a while back that he see's the bully crowd doing more harm than the hsus, mainly because most of them are too damned ignorant for their own good. |
