It's been a long time since Sasha has been well "Sasha". She has been sedentary to say the least. She hasn't wanted to do much but sleep and lay around for well over a year. She never wanted to play. She would go on walks and wear out so fast. She would be total grouch when we had her out. She acted like a 14 year old dog and not a 4 year old dog. She wasn't getting on with other dogs, and it had peaked. I would take her to places where she could run around off leash and she would just find a spot in the shade and lie down. She acted like she was sore a lot. Had her thyroid and all that checked out and everything kept coming back fine. Started to wonder if maybe she was even depressed. I wasn't sure she was going to be around at 14 years old at the rate she was going.
In the last 2 weeks I've seen a total change in this dog. She is playful and happy and just a joy to be around. Last night she rough housed on the floor with my daughter for a good two hours and just couldn't get enough of it. The last few days I've taken her out for walks and she has been so excited to go. And she has wanted to RUN and not walk. I took her somewhere where she could have some off leash play time by herself instead of finding a spot in the shade to lay down, she ran and ran and ran to her hearts content. I don't know what has changed but she is acting like a pup again (in a good way). |

Awesome !!!
I went through some of that with Sugar. She began to have mobility issues a couple of years ago. Some days were better than others but it was getting harder and harder for her to move around. She was starting to move like a crippled "old lady" sometimes. Slowly with the help of diet and supplements, she is back to about 90% of what she was. I know that I will have to supplement her and watch her weight from here on out though. Sugar is 5 now. |
