I am having an awful time finding someone I trust to watch Leon. Everyone jumps at the opportunity to take Maci, but when it comes to Leon I'm stuck most times which is why we don't
usually go anywhere unless the dogs can come. Unfortunately, I haven't seen my family since early LAST June and it looks like we will be flying down state side to see them and attend a wedding. So the dogs aren't able to come :/ I'm wondering if there are any members who could recommend a bully breed knowledgeable/experienced dog kennel in the Edmonton Area or would be interested in having a guest for a week. The wedding is March 10th. I need either a kennel that can do a week for $100 and can provide me with references to at least three bully breed owners and that will NOT allow him to have "play time" with the other dogs there. And will provide him with at least one walk every day OR some one on one time. And is also willing to feed my premade raw. OR A person who is willing to provide a vet and character reference, and a breeder reference would be nice if you've been in the bully world awhile. Also willing to feed his premade raw. NOT leave him unsupervised while you're gone with other dogs.... he does not have a kennel so either he has to be the only dog with free roam or you can shut him in a room/bathroom with a couple toys. I would need to arrange a day to come in to town or meet somewhere so we can meet you, and have him spend time just hanging out around your dogs. He is dog friendly as long as we take the time to properly introduce. However, I would like a person with the ability to crate and rotate if needed at any point and that knows about dog aggression/breaking up a fight. I know that sounds extremely picky, and what not... but I'm not just going to hand him over to the first person that says "hey me!" I'd rather pay to fly him with me as cargo or not go home at all. He is neutered, utd on vaccines, and is pretty easy going he looooovessss to sleep! |

Have you considered boarding him at your vets office? At least you would know he was safe. All his vet records would be there. And in case of an emergency or if he got sick, he would already be there.
I used to not like the idea of leaving my dog at the vets office, but after some experiences letting individuals I know watch my dogs and after Sasha got attacked (Among other issues) at the boarding facility we were using. (They were supposed to keep her separated from other dogs) I only leave her at the vets office if I can't take her with me. Our vet charges $18 a night. It might be different where you are and with your vet as far as costs. I know some charge based on weight and others just charge a flat rate. |

I will def. call my vet and ask! I don't think they board dogs for vacation due to it be a very small office there's only 1 vet and 2 vet techs/assistants :/ But if they do that'll be awesome... My vet might even be willing to watch my dog herself, and I would trust her because she knows about DA and LOVES Leon...
If there's any members in the area I'll still consider that as well! |
