breeders
Just wondered what you guys with more knowledge, thought about these breeders? I have the opportunity to move to the states in the next few years but to be honest this is a little more fantasy based. I've fallen in love with dogs from these breeder, are they a good choice?http://www.oldfamilyreds.com/http://...ayskennel.com/

If you were able to move here and were able to own a dream APBT, you should aim high and go for a Colby dog.

I'm obviously aware of the history of colby but I get confused about breeding. How many people breed that bloodline, is there any particular kennel you can link me to?
---------- Post added at 08:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:05 PM ---------- Plus what are your thoughts on those two kennels? I'm not sure how to judge if they are decent |
|
Dog Days made my laptop freeze up but I got to read a bit of it and they are SHIT!!!!!!! They have bullies and AmStaffs, if you want an APBT, do NOT. Go with OFRN.
I'm not a big fan of Colby dogs myself. I like them but wouldn't want to own one. |
Dog Days kennel looks like a puppy mill - did you see all the litters they have?! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/eek.png Not to mention, shit dogs. ONE champion, and they breed every female they have to him. Not very attractive looking dogs, either.
OFRN is good stuff. Colby is good stuff. There is a lot of good stuff out there. Your best bet would be, when you move to wherever you're moving, to attend shows and meet breeders there http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png |
I agree with Teal.

Sorry just quickly, I think I've got to grips with the am staff/apbt situation and this has thrown me http://nevadakennels.com/femalesIs there a mixture in there? BTW it would be las Vegas if I did move

What about Nevada Kennels has thrown you? They show UKC/AKC and many of their dogs are dual registered. They also have an entirely separate breed, SBTs. |

Right so even though all of those females are amstaffs they be registered as apbt. That's the bit I didn't get. Yeah I'm overly familar with sbt, I've had them before
---------- Post added at 07:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:55 AM ---------- *they can be registered as |
Yeah, you can register any AmStaff as an APBT with the UKC, unfortunately.
|
Oh I see missed that one, still learning sorry. Though not keen on the am bully I think am staffs look fucking awesome but they aren't apbt, what the ukc on? So stupid

OLd Family Reds is owned by Mike Morgan. He has been into the old family rednose dogs for over 30 years. He knows what a real apbt is. He has the genuine thing. I would take one of his dogs over a pure Colby dog anyday.
The dog day kennel is fairly new to the breed, but is doing extensive health testing. However, those dogs do not have very good pedigrees (last time I looked)and are either pitterstaffs or ambullies. I like pitterstaffs, but do not care for bullies. Not to rip on Colby dogs, as Louis Colby was a great person(I have heard)... However every pure Colby dog that I have seen and I have seen about 10-12...were very soft and although pretty, not real drivey or confident. The best ones I see were owned by a couple from out east that weightpull. |

But yeah, the ones that already ARE dual-registered will remain that way.... ---------- Post added at 05:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:06 PM ---------- Quote:
---------- Post added at 05:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:19 PM ---------- Okay, I found one that is dualed so is an Am Staf (and a Pit Bull with UKC); but not all of those females are Am Stafs. |
Personally I would go with a Midnight Cowboy. I love them
|
IMO - finding a breeder thru the internet is a very unwise decision.... go to events where these dogs are showcased.... speak with folks.... put your hand out..... gather info.... process that info.... a few years later..... make a decision....

personally, most good breeders dont have websites. if you want to find something you like, research, research, research. go to shows, meet some people, find what you like, go from there. |
