Default Break Stick from Deer Antler?
We filled a whitetail tag today, just for meat. The buck wasn't big enough to bother with mounting the head...
but just wondering if anyone has ever heard of a break stick made of Deer antler? This buck was a young 2x2 [we shot a decent 4x5 earlier this season, dh's first deer] so his antlers would be perfect for making a break stick if it's possible. Just don't want his li'l antlers going to waste.

What do you guys think... every heard of making on from antler?
Here's a pick of the 4x5 we shot... to give you an idea of what we're working with... the one we shot today is a main beam w/one spike.

You can also give them to the dogs as chew toys

I use hickory or oak hatchet handles I form on the sander and put a wrist strap in, I've thought of it but I had a notion in my head that antlers would shatter, got plenty on top of the sauna maybe I'll give them a shot for kicks.

Jacko... was that a 2x2 as well, and you snapped of the one tine? looks like the one I have. I just wasn't sure how to cut/sand of the tine from the main beam lol. I practiced on him with it, works like a charm.

I was thinking of having my grandfather in law drill a hole in it for a wrist strap as well
I just wasn't sure if I needed to sand the point down or if it was okay to stay pointy... I want it to be effective but I don't wanna stab him lol.
