Sucks to be all responsible and broke til things pick up at work..

I found this from a docu trailer in the "Off the chin" thread and decided not to hijack (much) and post it in it's own thread.

The hubby never bought me an engagement ring. Just have plain white gold with a platinum dip wedding bands. So, I think it perfectly reasonable that when he gets his hours back I make him buy this ring for me. I mean, a grand is cheaper than most engagement sets by far, so I'd be letting him off light, right?

I am now obsessed with having it. In fact, I bet I could contact the maker and have it done to match my wedding ring because I don't like to wear different metals.

It's the same price, too, but the crafter mentions nothing about custom work. I could have it platinum dipped by a jewler after I bought it, right?

The first one I've seen multiple pieces done by that guy and I'm sure he would be more then able to custom design one.
I've seen them with diamonds in the eyes and nose.

I did really like it until I realized it would be a bit too big for my fingers. I like the 2nd one better because it looks more my size and more feminine.

If there's that much price difference from Etsy to Ebay then I wonder if that person even makes the jewellery themselves. There are all sorts of resellers on Etsy who get stuff off Ebay and jack up the prices to make it seem more Etsy-legal.

The price differences are due to the metals used. Silver is much less expensive than gold. I haven't found the gold on ebay any cheaper.
