Yes, it's possible she was still in heat when you took her in. Rita had very long heat cycles and sometimes went into heat back to back due to hormone imbalance.
I just kept mine as calm as possible and did a lot of crate rest. Rita acted pretty blah for the first day or two after her surgery and then she tried to go back to normal behavior while I tried to keep her from hurting herself until she healed. ---------- Post added at 10:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:53 AM ---------- Some dogs are a bit more sensitive to the spay surgery than others. You could ask for pain meds, i personally didnt but my dog was fine. Spaying a dog in heat from what i understand is a slightly more difficult procedure even though im not sure why. |

She could be feeling a bit icky with the anesthetic also. Nitro was whining for most of the evening after his neuter and was weird for a day afterward, even with painkillers, and the vet said that's usually a reaction to the anesthetic. It makes people feel crappy, I imagine dog reactions would be similar.
He's back to normal now. I hope your pup gets back to feeling like her old self soon. |

For now i would just wait it out and make sure she takes it really easy if shes bothered. Is cleo crate trained? Maybe some crate rest will help for a day. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk |
