ok, now how about a little more information.

Dog Chipped?
Dog's Call Name? (This would be helpful, just in case someone spots a dog might be him.)
Does he respond to english commands or german?

I sure hope he is found. I know how hearbreaking it is to lose a competition dog this way. You never really get over it.

His name is Hex. Although formal commands are in German, his owner is American and I'm sure the dog would respond to English. My dog's Schutzhund commands are German but she understands common English words as well. Besides, she wouldn't likely comply with a stranger if given formal commands. The dog is either chipped, tattooed or both. I haven't heard definitively either way.

I'm not in IL. But I'll post the news video. You never know where he may have ended up.

The news story said tattoo in left ear and chipped.

I hope someone brings him home.

Has he put up fliers saying that if he is returned there will be no questions asked and a reward? With the publicity, the chip and the tattoo, maybe the thieves will feel he is too "hot" and just bring him home to collect the reward.

He didn't make it. I hope they find out what happened. At least now the owners can get some kind closure. RIP Hex
