LOL.
Well, we've been trying to talk to the old shut ins since she showed up the night before last. I guess they're not home or something. Boyfriend and I worked out a plan. He left them a letter saying, hey, we've got your dog. Here's our phone number. If you can get the materials and buy a real collar, we can build you a chain spot for her (she's gotten loose at least 3 times since 4th of July, because of fireworks, and thunder storms. Not good considering her dire NEED to eat small animals and fight dogs, plus the whole township having some BSL). If you're not willing to do that/not able, we'd like to hold onto her (the kid who owns the dog and keeps it there is their grand son, he's there maybe once a month to play his drums), and the owner can come see her while we have her, we'll get her shots and get her spayed, and eventually find her a good home. I made sure he wrote down that it's illegal for them to have an unaltered pit bull here if it's not papered and active in shows. As for the room mate, me and the man are going out of town for the wedding this weekend. I'm leaving her a literal BOOK of instructions. Basically, this is how much my dogs need to eat, Ethel needs ear drops twice a day. DO NOT let Sheebs out of her crate with my dogs or Toilet cat in the room (lock them in my room), if you want to play Dog Whisperer with Sheebs and your dog, go ahead, break sticks are by the door, shovel is in the garage, bury Pizza out by my garden, it needed some fertilizer. I pray she tries to have Pizza and Sheebs loose in a room together again. Literally PRAYING. When I came out to her running around with Pizza earlier, I caught her right as she got her "I'm going to fuck you up" smile going. And room mate won't have anyone to help her break up a fight, so we'll see how that goes. She knows I'll come home and gut her if my dogs have a scratch on them, ever since I popped her in the face for letting Lucy and her shitty dog out in the yard together. But she did see what happens if Lucy and Sheeba are even leashed in the same room together today, so that might have gotten the point across. Lots of "ARGAGHAHAHAHRARHRAHRHA GRRRRRRR I'M GONNA EAT YOUR FACE". But the good news is, we each have a couple of friends who might want her in a few months after we've put some work into her. And they're people who are really on point about pit bulls. So I'm tentatively hopeful. Honestly I love this dog, she's hilarious. I'd hold onto her until she dies if it comes to that. |

Did you get warm and fuzzy? I am stunned!
Naw, not really. I know you care. She is a pretty girl. She's got nice eyes. She seems like Rita. Not too bright, prey driven but really, really sweet. Once spayed and vaccinated with some training and maybe a CTJM or two, I am sure she would make a good pet for someone responsible. The problem is going to be the grandparents possibly not wanting to give away their grandsons dog. Since you are a good owner and have a plan, if they give you any grief or hemming and hawing, point out again that having her there unspayed is illegal and could land her in the pound and them in hot water regardless of who technically owns her. I bet AC wouldn't even consider her the grandsons dog since he is never there. They'd probably hold the old folks responsible. And I would kick my kid/grandkid's ass for dumping their dog on me and not making sure it is licensed, S/N and vaccinated. Oooh, also, if she eats someones pet while wandering around the old folks could get sued for vet bills. God forbid a newb try to break it up and a human take a redirect bite. Then the dog gets put down and the lawsuit goes into the tens of thousands. Mention that, too. |

Yeah, I like her, She's a feisty little bitch. Once we have a car I want to take her out to the country and let her go after some rabbits.
And she remembers the CTJMs she had before, and she got a brief one earlier when she got a little too curious about the cat and started the "killing stuff" grin. She hasn't tried to mark (she's a marker) in the house once, and as soon as she gets out of sight and I raise my voice she comes charging back at me, so clearly those beatings had an effect on her. ![]() Shit, I could probably have the law on my side since I had her for 3 months last year. I figure I'll let boyfriend deal with them. He's really good at talking to people, especially the hood folks we have around here. I think it's a fairly hefty fine for having an unaltered pit bull here too, and you know, money talks. Plus, I don't think they care that much. It's been 2 days now, the letter is still taped to their door. Shit, last time it was months before the kid came by while my old room mate was outside with her and took her back (and if it had been me and not the non-confrontational room mate, all hell would have broken loose ![]() |

You had this dog for months before they came around? Hell yeah, that would have been a fight right there. I'd have gotten her shots, fixed and licensed in ym name and told fuckwad to prove she was "his" dog and even if he wanted to I would tell him he would have to pay for the vet bills. Usually, that's when they decide the dog is better off with you and leave.
And does this put you over the legal dog limit? Cuz then everyone could give you grief, too ![]() |

She reminds me a LOT of a bitch we had in rescue for EVERRR. She had the same mastiffy face and adorable, sweet expression (and personality). She'd also prob kill a dog if given the chance. Luckily she was placed in a responsible, single dog home who loves her and knows how to live with a "pit bull."
Good luck, Sheba!! |

Thanks guys.

Usually, that's when they decide the dog is better off with you and leave. Shit, I've been over the limit for awhile now. But I never have all the dogs out at the same time, and they never get loose and run wild so no one's said shit about it. Plus we always look the other way when there's illegal activity going on, so I doubt anyone would call AC on me *knock on wood*. Plus everyone but Sheebs is UTD on everything, both the pit bull and the shit bull mix are spayed, so aside from the amount of dogs, everything is legal. Plus boyfriend is on good terms with all our neighbors and they like him, and that our dogs are never tearing ass around the area fucking shit up (which means A LOT to people here). I hate this neighborhood, but it's nice that all the neighbors have the same "Not my bidness" attitude about everything. I could run outside firing shots into the air right now at 10 am, and no one would call the cops. |

After I talked with the neighbors about being over the limit and they said it didn't matter to them because my dogs weren't a problem, my husband went and chatted with a few and didn't tell me til later.
Apparently, he gave them some insight into my personality and gently reminded them that I am am imaginative and vindictive bitch. He told the gossiping dude next door that if anyone gave me a hassle without just cause I would go on a revenge spree up to and including calling on them for every little thing and maybe even midnight personal property damage. Considering the problems we have had with the hoodrat apartment kids coming round and messing with people (cept us because they are scared of my dogs), he pointed out, they would never be able to prove it was me. He said the best thing would be to keep my happy and having Renee makes me happy, so yeah. So far, so good. *knock on wood* ---------- Post added at 12:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:29 PM ---------- BTW, is that spot on her chest in the last pic a wound or just dirt? |
