Default I've been searching forever!
Okay, so in January, my grandmother passed from cancer. I've been living with her for the last 2 years to help take care of her. My uncle is her power of attorney and is selling her home, which means me and Duchess have to move. I live in Richmond, VA and I've been having an awful time trying to find a house or apartment that will rent to someone with a pit. I've searched everywhere! Parts of town you wouldn't normally catch me in, smaller homes, homes I can't really afford, or places just further away than my comfort zone....Then today, I got a call back from some guy who has a 2 bedroom 3rd floor unit apartment in the city, and the first thing I asked him was his pet policy, and he asked what kind of pet i had. Now, I'm an honest person so I straight up told him I had a pit bull....and he said "I LOVE PITS, but I've gotta charge a pet deposit" WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO No problem dude! So, me and Duchess are going to check out the inside tomorrow. He's the first person I've come across in the 2 months I've been looking that said yes to a pit, so I'm extreamly happy and grateful. However, the cost of the apartment is a bit more than I was hoping to pay, and then I have the utilities and stuff to pay for, so I would really be struggling to keep my head afloat there, but I'm willing to be broke for a year or so, if I can keep my baby. I really didn't want to go to an apartment with her, but anything is better than not being able to keep her.

I just wanted to share this because I'm super excited, and happy that i found SOMETHING! Now, I know there are probably others out there that are more in my price range, so I'm still going to continue looking, but for the time being it looks like we may have found our new home! Wish me luck!

Best of luck!
My mom helped my aunt when she was looking and my mom was stressed just trying to find a place that would rent to my aunt with her GSD. She told me after "good luck if you guys ever need to rent". Unfortunatly I know shes right too. Hopfully this place works out for you though!

I've told you before, you and Duchess are welcome to the back porch... it has walls, and a roof, and a fenced yard behind it, what more could you want? lol

You know I'm crossing my fingers for ya! We'll find something!

That's OK, Karma doesn't really care for them much either! lol

I swear one day I'm going out there with a super soaker and letting them have it! They're just begging for it! Looks like a carnival shooting game when all 3 of them start running up and down the fence line yapping away!

I had the most success finding a place that allowed my "dangerous breeds" by posting on Craigslist. I said that my boyfriend and I were young professionals, the size of the unit we wanted, what area, and the fact that we had pets. I also said what kind of pets we had (breeds). I got the best legitimate leads that way, and the place we're in now is AWESOME.
