No way to know without valid papers.

Looks like one to me
|
Appears to be a Pit Bull to me!
In fact, looks more like a Pit Bull than some Pit Bulls that have papers! Carla |
put it like this...someone that didn't want her gave her to me...People in town know that I love dogs and she is the third dog I have taken in and the other, I found them the right home to go to...Most of the dogs that come through here are not on papers and are purebred dogs...I plan on getting a DNA from the vet here soon. I think it's going to be about a hundred and something.
Look..I'm here to get help not to get battered. I used to be part of a few boards because a few dogs came through here. I'm just asking someone to possibly go by the picture that I have provided for a start, I just got her... |
It sure looks like a pit bull. Don't waste your money on dna tests.
|
I'm pretty sure dna tests do not even have american pit bull terrier as a breed choice to test for, so texting him to see if he is one, won't even help you. Just accept him for what he is....a dog. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

Knowledgeable breed people are more accurate at determining breed than any DNA test. It's a crime those tests have been legitimized to be able to identify a breed in the way we know a breed. They do some things in being able to identify certain gene segments that are common to certain breeds/groups, but they don't identify breed in the common, visual way we always have. Carla |
Thank you all very much.. I have been thinking about keeping her...but expect to learn more from this board what are some good things to do as far as exercise, training tips, feeding, toys and several other things. I believe this dog was going to be used to fight but I just happen to be at the right place at the right time....I will update periodically...

She absolutely adorable, I think we need more pics ;-)
|
Welcome and Thank You for taking her in!
To me, she looks like an American Pit Bull Terrier as well, however, I hope that you understand that - without valid papers - this is pure speculation http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png Bottomline: you have come to great forum to learn about bully breeds, and we will help you 'raise' this adorable little one - if you promise to post LOTS of pictures! |
Thank you very much for the warm welcome! I will post more pics soon...Can videos be posted here also..I'd like you all to see how she interacts and socialize....

She is adorable but there is no way of knowing if you don't have papers. Just enjoy her. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

I sure will.... Thanks Krista! :-)

The best time to import banned dogs is when they are pups because at that age it is much harder to determine what breed they may be. Just a little FYI there... You will get a better idea as she grows but you will never be 100% certain. She does look like she has bulldog and terrier type mix in there like you would expect from an apbt but in young pups it is especially hard to tell.

I'll vote pitbull.
