Default Oskars is going to make a lucky family very happy -- will it be yours?
Oskars Barktulis is a young, affectionate brindle pittie mix who was found as a stray, and was brought to the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Team. He is already neutered. He keeps getting passed over at the shelter because he doesn't have a regular outlet for his youthful energy, but if he's anything like the pittie that I adopted from ACCT, with regular walks every day, he will settle down to be a wonderful family pet. We took a walk through Wissahickon last weekend, and after an hour, he was exhausted!

He is VERY affectionate, loves to kiss and cuddle. He has already learned the Sit command, and is working on Down.

Oskars has been waiting for his family at ACCT for a while now, and is starting to get depressed. He is injuring himself, trying to dig out of his kennel.

Please, if you or someone you know is interested in fostering or adopting, please pass along this thread, or his blog: Adopt a Pawsitive Attitude. He's sweet, he's smart, he's dog-friendly. Please bring your whole family (other dogs included) to meet him. I'd love to introduce you to him, and I know he'd love to meet you. Reply to this thread, or email PenPal.CandD{at}gmail dot com

Oskars spent some time outside of Chic Petique this afternoon for an adoption event. He makes a great passenger in the car. He just lays down in the backseat. No car sickness. He slept the whole way back to the shelter after the event.

He tried to kiss as many people as possible that came by and said hello. He sat politely for treats. He's very food-motivated (makes training MUCH easier!), and ignored all the other dogs around him when I asked him to sit for a treat.

During his behavior evaluation, the shelter behaviorist observed that he was playful with other dogs, but a dog-meet would be required if his potential adopter has other dogs, just to make sure they get along.

Please pass his information along if you know anyone looking for a 3 to 5-year-old sweet, affectionate, dog-friendly dog.
