question about "blues"

i always see photos of the so called "blues" and i think they are gorgous, the pics ive seen it almost looks like they have a velvet coat lol what is this breed or is it a certain bloodline i was just curious on how many of you all are educated about this dog because im not.thanks

Galsteinbok 03-02-2011 12:21 AM

Blue is just a term for the colour of a dog, which is actually grey. It is NOT a bloodline or a different breed.

gIWnXYkw 03-02-2011 12:24 AM

Your dog ain't even blue.

elects 03-02-2011 12:25 AM

They are usually American Bullies.
There can be blue Amstaffs, and sometimes APBT's but not often.

Most blue dogs you see, consist of Razors Edge, Gotti, Greyline ect. bloodlines.

There is an AmBully section here in the forum.
PM Shon or Vicki for access, and check it out!
You can learn almost anything you want to know about them. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

Hey now, don't be so harsh. Before I came to this forum, I was just as lost as this newbie is. Everyone has to start somewhere. Just because they ask questions doesn't mean they are stupid.

There are lots of blue American Staffordshire Terriers. Better not let many of their owners know they most likely have American bulleez!

Not much to know really, okla, although they will make it SOUND like there is.

Get THEIR side by all means; and to balance things out, you might want to read this:

Bully: This, That The Other Thing - American Bullies and 'bully style' Pit Bulls

The rest of "The Real Pit Bull" site is good as well; with some more discussion of blues and a good history section as well.

Agreed, especially when some people are so unwilling to learn or listen. The fact that someone wants to learn should be enough motivation to want to help. If you aren't interested in helping, no biggie, but no need for nasty responses.

RCQDnMp5 03-02-2011 01:56 AM

Thank you all for your input.i would also likr to say that in every forum there are a couple of people who will always take shots at people that are trying to learn something new and it dosent bother me because in the end they are the ones that look like true jackass.to everyone else i thank you for your time and info you had to offer me!

I think its all good someone is willing to learn but they also need to learn the search feature is up and running and there are hundreds of threads on the whole blue thing.

Yup I'm fine with that but it's as simple as just directing them to that. You weren't the culprit anyway http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

You have to read rules before joining this site and im almost certain the search feature is metioned in that.

Qauunet 03-02-2011 02:08 AM

I wonder how many people actually read the rules... http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/lol.gif There should be a site survey!

But in all seriousness, search feature, please use it, it works, trust me.

Won't deny that either. I just don't personally see the need for biting people's heads off out of the gate. No one is obligated to respond to a new thread at all.

I'm not going to change anyone else, I'm just a non confrontational person so I don't personally like to see it. That's all I'm saying.

"Bluenose" just refers to the leather color of the nose. The coat and be all blue, blue brindle, blue and white, white and blue and blue fawn (basically bluie). The "blue" comes from an inability to produce black pigment due to double recessive "dd" genome. Simply...it is just a color...nothing wrong with being "blue".

The problem is people that breed for color as the desired "trait"...forget to breed for the whole dog. They don't care if the dog they are breeding is diabetic, allergy prone or even HA (human aggressive). That is why some believe that being "blue" is a bad thing...when in actuality, it would just be another color if it were not a "fad".

Honestly, if it takes reading the rules to be civil to others...something is missing!

elects 03-02-2011 02:22 AM

Carla I said APBT's weren't often blue, not AmStaffs. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/wink.png

Wonder how many "newbies" check in here looking for help get run off by assholes. Not naming names you know who you are. Mention "blue" anything around here and watch em go! RIDICULOUS. I mean really...RIDICULOUS!
