So, my brother had a litter a year and some change ago. One of the pups went to a ghetto hoodrat kid (18 yrs old) who my brother believed (because he is an idiot) would love and care for the dog. And he did. Right up until a neighbor told him she didn't like or trust Pit Bulls and would call the cops on him if he didn't get rid of the dog. She later called the cops and said the kid had a vicious dog. They came out to investigate, asked to see the dog. The kid lets him out without a leash, he runs to the cops because he is an untrained young dog who sees new people ("OMG! People People People! I like People!") and the cops shoot him 4 times because they thought he "was a threat".
We all grieved and were very upset that the kid allowed this to happen. Last week my brother gets a phone call that apparently Torque (the dead pup) mated with Isis (another Pit Bull) because Isis's owners didn't know she could get pregnant after she stopped bleeding from her heat and now she is giving birth and they have no idea what to do. So, brother goes over and decides to take the only female from the litter. Freakin really?!? He lost his job, is about to lose his house if he doesn't come up with a way to make more money than scrappin metal from the trash pays, his dogs are due for shots and tags and aren't getting them anytime soon and are only being fed because the one thing his worthless new unemployed roommates do is buy dog food for their dog and share it with my brothers. Needless to say I lost my grip when he said he was taking this pup. I told him to contact a rescue, push his friends to fix Isis and NOT take a pup that he cannot afford to care for and doesn't know if he will have a place that will allow him to keep for the next say decade! We aren't really speaking right now. Yesterday, I get a tearful call from my friend, C. She has 2 dogs, a Pit mix (we think Lab) that she adopted from the city shelter and a younger female Pit Bull from a breeder. A mutual friend moved in with her after a nasty divorce and brought his dog, a Pit bull named MJ. MJ was utd on shots and stuff, but unemployment ran out, drugs and women are more important to the owner and he is now forced to move to Arizona to live with his parents. C has been training and caring for MJ, but she cannot afford 3 dogs and knows it. Partly because he has a strange growth on his leg that needs vet attention and thats costly. She is heartbroken, but she is going to have to either find a way or find him a home because his worthless POS owner is leaving him behind. I told her to find a rescue that will take care of the food and vet bills and find him a good home and ask to be his foster until a permanent home can be found. My husband is willing to help her keep the dog and pay for some vet care if she can find a way to otherwise care for him. Its all up in the air, but the point is that his owner should have made him more of a priority and should get his shit straight and keep him. People suck. On top of this my friend Frank is in the hospital, dying. Liver and kidney failure due to diabetes and many other health problems. He owns Petey and Buddy, I've talked about them before. Anyways, I am really worried that Donna, franks GF, will not be able to care for the dogs with Frank gone. She loves them and has no intention of letting them go, but money will be a big concern and she is mentally delicate and if she has another nervous breakdown I don't know what will happen. I offered any help she needs, but who knows what the future holds. I think I spend more time worrying about the Pits I know than people. I like them more. Its so frustrating. |

ill say, And its time to shit on that lady and mind fuck her Its MJ, who was dumped on her by a mutual friend she was helping out that she cannot afford to care for and will have to either find a way or find a new home for and thats what makes me so sad for MJ. First his family breaks up, then he goes to a nice place where he is loved, but his owner is abandoning him and the nice place cannot afford the extra bills a 3rd dog will generate. My husband is willing to pay for the neuter and initial vet care regarding the growth on his leg. Hopefully, that will be enough for C to keep him. Donna is a good owner and intends to keep her and Franks dogs after he passes, but she is on limited income and may end up back in the hospital from her mental condition after Frank passes. That makes me worry about the dogs. |

Regarding the first situation. People Suck! Also I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Frank. I'll be praying for all involved there. I very much appreciate the understanding and support of the forum and its great to have you guys to rant to. At least you understand why I am so upset. A friends dogs that I know and love may end up homeless if their remaining owner goes into long term in-patient mental care. A litter of unregistered pups born into a bad situation and one being taken by a family member who is irresponsible and another good dog I know well being abandoned by his owner plus a heartbroken friend who loves this dog being (probably) financially unable to care for him is a lot. Most people wouldn't think so, since its "just a dog" or few, but at least you guys get it. |
