So, are all APBT owners covered in bruises all the time? I swear if you saw my arms and legs, you would probably want to report my husband for domestic abuse. I know I bruise easily, but I've never been so marked up in my life. We're working on not jumping and not trying sit in my lap all the time. But every time Pooh decides he wants to cuddle, or jump up and kiss me, or we play tug of war, I get a new batch of bruises!

Yesterday I thought I was going to have nose bleed when he bashed into my face trying to kiss me...geeez looooooeeez I don't know if I can survive his violent affection!!

All too familiar with that - when Madeleine was a pup, a neighbor was visiting, and she said:

"I hope you don't have to go to the Dr. ..."

Perplexed, I asked her what she was thinking ...

She stated that any attending Physician would interpret the bruises/scratches as a sign of possible abuse

I bruise easily as well, so you have my sincerest sympathy and empathy

... and with lots of NILIF and time, it will get better ... eventually ....

My arms and legs look like I've gone through a war zone after a week at work...

I do not bruise easily at all and when I was first training Socrates I looked battered! I was afraid to go to my dad's house because I looked like I got the crap beat out of me and I didn't want him to think it was my BF!

I can honestly say that I DO bruise easily, but I've never had a bruise from one of our dogs - lol. Now...my cousin's Labrador Retriever is another story!

I went through this when first training Jake. Even today he will occasionally forget and take a flying leap into my lap for some loving. I guess with these dogs it's not worth doing if it isn't 100%.

We call it "tough love" around our house.

I can relate. Harley doesn't jump up on me but when I let him lay on the bed with me, occassionaly he will want to sit on me as opposed to RIGHT next to me like usual and that usually always causes a bruise or two (I also bruise pretty easy) other times when he's running around with zoomies his big block head slams into my shins (his head slams into everything constantly LOL). That accounts for a lot of the bruises (have a couple from that exact cause right now actually)

The other day was funny because I asked Harley to 'spin' and he was very excited so he did a jumping spin and he used my leg to push off of so he could spin faster and he punched me in the leg so hard I had to stop and gather myself before I said a no-no around my 2 year old (he got me good) and now I have what looks like 3 claw marks on my thigh but instead of being scratches they are big ugly bruises. Its rather funny but I've been wearing pants to hide it because it really could be taken wrong, vety easily could fit fingers as if someone had grabed my leg there. But honest it was just my dog punching me while doing what I asked him to do lol

Not too mention the battering of the shins from the tail wagging.

I have been COVERED in scratches and horrible looking bruises for the past six months, But Luigi has recently outdone himself. He jumped up in my husband's face to kiss him and knocked out his bridge with his cinder block head. My husband looked at me with the biggest eyes i've ever seen and then spit out one of his front teeth! He has to wait a week until he can have it glued back in and he looks like the guy from the hangover. 2 weeks ago I dared to check a text on my phone with the leash in my other hand and a leaf blew by... I ended up landing on my face and neck on the sidewalk. My black eye is still fading and i had road rash from my cheek bone half way down my neck.
We took a picture on my phone of us with my battered face and him smiling without his front tooth, and the puppy looking innocent and sent it to the head of the rescue we got him from with a message saying "look at the makeover you gave us!" I don't know how to get pictures from my phone on the computor, but that photo is priceless.

And the older I get the more bruises I seem to be getting. What is really noteworthy is that my husband has been coming in from the yard bleeding from his arms, elbows, etc. He is 55 now and the dogs are doing a number on him lately. They love HARD!!

He jumped up in my husband's face to kiss him and knocked out his bridge with his cinder block head. OMG, that is one of my biggest fears! I have a bridge in front and a bunch of crowns and I just know one day Pooh is going to knock my teeth out! Not funny at all!!! My sympathies to your husband ! And to you....I bet the neighbors think you guys had a knock-down drag out domestic situation!

We own a salon, he does hair and I do makeup, some hair and run the front desk. in this business the way we look really kind of matters, and a few clients have looked a little sceptical (sp?) when we blamed it all on a 9 month old puppy! if i mention that I had 2 glasses of champagne before I took him out that night they seem to have an easier time buying it.
And watch that bridge, his popped right out!

Ah yes, the formidable pit bull head! Cricket cracked me in the face the other day and broke my lip, it was bruised and sore for days.

Our dog Dylan loves to punch us in the face, LOL. He sleeps on our bed and during his morning stretches he managers to get me or my boyfriend square in our faces. Last night he also started a lovely habit of, quite literally, doing a flying leap onto the bed, almost landing on my face if it wasn't for my AWESOME reflexes. Ever heard that Dane Cook joke, when he talks about dodge flying tires at your face like you're The Highlander? That's how I terrible much dodge Dylan when he does that! lmao

My cousin was walking her lab and he jumped up as she bent down and he broke her jaw. She had to have it wired shut, but then she dropped a few pounds - we were all calling Maui to see if we could recreate so we could all lose a few pounds too

I bruise REALLY easy and mostly I think I get them from being clumsy and bouncing off walls when I walk around but I have had my fair share from the dogs (both at home and at the shelter).
