Fill a bathtub with some warm water and get puppy shampoo and a cup. He probably won't like it at first but probably later on like it

They shouldnt really get stinky, there must be something causing it. Dont wash her/him too much as its not good for them, maybe every three four months if you have to. I havent bathed stage in like 3years, i had to bath grace on Sunday for the show tho http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

I have 2 little stinkers ( both healthy), they get a bath once a month, with a mild hypoallergenic shampoo ( one of them is allergic to fragrances etc).

There are shampoos that you can use daily. We have them at the vet's office I work at. It's especially helpful when you have a boarder that pees in their cage every night.
However, most shampoos dry out the skin and can be harmful if used too often.

The less the better - my Rottie gets a bath twice a year (can you say 'fluffy', after she is done, LOL).

Our APBT is on a more frequent schedule, due to allergies, occasional mild demodex flare-ups which are addressed with a specialty shampoo.

PetEdge.com has some really good shampoos. We use those shampoos at my work at the shelter and the dog daycare and they smell so much better! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png The conditioners are really good as well. You don't want to bathe them too much with these, because they are high quality. A little bit goes a long way. The brand is Top Performance and you can pick whatever you are looking for. They actually are all pretty good, but Top Performance is the one

Huh my dog (some kind of heinz-57 but double coated for sure) gets a bath every week in the summer and is no worse the wear for it. I switch off between high quality "soap free" shampoos (the latest Desert Essence with neem) so that may make a difference.

The only reason is, it's really hot here and he really likes the whole ritual; it is a bonding thing for us.

maybe you could try the dry sampoo between washes i've never tried it so i dont know if it works

Whenever my hands are dirty after petting them I know their fur is dirty so it's time for a bath.

I don't mean really dirty hands where you can see it but when after petting them for a minute I can feel a sheen of dirt on my hands.

In the summer when they roll around in the dirt when we go out to play it might be once every couple of weeks. In the winter they might not get a bath from Nov. until April.

The oldest doesn't play so much so he only gets a bath once a year, he'd rather lay on the couch.

The two apbt mixes and the puppy like to play with water hose so i make sure to spray them creatively when we are playing with the hose and then just dry them with a towel and hey feel plenty clean after that.

Please find out why he's smelly though, my dogs never smell much unless they get something on their fur.
