Default Beau almost died today.......
I'm the world's WORST owner.....

He somehow got his head stuck under one of the two sheds we had and almost strangled to death.......

I was not home when it happened I was in the mountains fishing....my step-dad called and left me a voice-mail. He saved Beau's life, he had to actually un-hook Beau's chain off of him and dig under him to remove his head.

I feel horrible for it and I KNOW it's MY fault......just thought I'd post this as a warning to everyone.....

I'm so sorry Beau, mama let you down

I'm glad he is OKAY!!
Don't be to hard on yourself, just learn from what happened and make sure it doesn't happen again.
The only mistakes worth making are the ones you learn from.

I'm sorry! That's SO scary! Give him lots of cookies and talk a paranoid walk around your yard to check for what else could happen... but, flukes always happen regardless, not your fault. Ya can't bubblewrap a dog!

Glad he's ok.. he's probably forgotten about it, but I'm sure you never will. Don't be too hard on yourself, it could have happened to anyone. Just make sure you block where he got caught so it can't happen again, and like everyone said, learn from it and more forward. You will beat yourself up more than he ever will. You're not a bad owner.... a bad owner would not do anything to prevent it from happening again, and you won't do that, so you're not a bad owner.

I'm glad everything turned out ok and Beau will be with you for a long time to come.

Thanks everyone...all that really helped me!

I was just so scared I almost lost my best friend!!!

He's fine thank god.....doesn't seem to be phased at all.....stupid old mutt.

Gotta love him...tomorrow I'm going to put cinder blocks under each shed and then go through his chain-spot thoroughly to make sure this doesn't happen again!

Your not a bad owner.

Accidents happen. The difference between a good and bad owner is that a good one will learn from the accidents and takes measures to prevent them from occurring in the future. A bad one could care less and will allow future situations to occur without any thought of the dog's well-being.
