Default Dog Hair
All right guys/ladies I need to rant a little. How can these short hair dogs have so much hair? So I used to clean twice every week. My house used be clean but now that I have hair every where I feel like its never clean enought and I never stop cleaning. So my question to you guys/ladies what products or what are the best products out there to pick up all this hair. I got a hard wood floor, but when I sweep it feels like I don't pick it up I just move it some where else. I need products for carpet as well for the smell of my dogs feet and for my familys nasty feet.

When I decided to get a Saint Bernard, I first invested in a Dyson vacuum. It solves pretty much all my problems, except for the dog smell. Plus, I love using it to vacuum up spiders. I've treated it like a shop vac, and it still works like it did on the day I got it.

For dog smell in carpet, I liberally sprinkle baking soda over the carpet, let it sit for about 20-30 minutes, then vacuum throughly.

Actually last week i had to rent a special vaccum cleaner from the hardware store to throughly clean the carpet from dog hair! It took me a good 2 hours! Other than that i just use a dirt devil vaccum at least one a week with carpet cleaner foam....

Seriously, Dyson's are where it's at. I used to go through 2 vacuums a year. This crazy yellow one I've had for almost 3 years and still hasn't died. Plus it has a 5 year warranty and is guaranteed to keep its suction until it goes to vacuum heaven.

I have given up on my back seat of my car. Its bad, especially with Roxy's white hair and my black chairs. I dunno if anyone else has experienced this (as I know my bf hasn't) but have you ever stepped on a hair and had it go into your feet?? Almost like a hair sliver?? Hurts but obviously comes out easy. I get them all the time, yet I sweep like all the time!!!

I feel ya with the hair in the feet. I'll be at work and all of a sudden I have a cat hair in my foot. I have to excuse myself and explain that I have a pet hair stuck in my foot and it's very painful till I can remove it.

Get a Kong Zoom Groom brush. It looks odd but it works very well. After a couple of good brushings, I found Odin doesn't really shed at all.

And a good vacuum is essential.

I have a Shark Infinity vacuum, it's ranked up there with the Dysons but about 400$ cheaper. Sucks up just about anything and has a carpet and regular floor setting. I also use baking soda on carpets/upholstery and keep windows open.

I will stand behind the Dyson as well. I have the regular yellow one that takes care of Uma's short hairs, my friend has a pet proven purple one but he has a cocker with a lot more shedding going on.

Another vote for Dyson. I have a pink one (I think it's the DC-24, I might be wrong though) and it's amazing what that thing gets out of my carpet. I got mine refurbished on Ebay for $250, great deal.

We decided on an AB and an APBT because they were short haired dogs and had the personality traits we liked. HA HA HA HA HA! Less hair to clean was a fantasy and a myth! These dogs shed so much its a miracle they aren't bald!

I gave up on carpet altogether. Ripped it out and hope to refinish the hardwood that was underneath, but for now its just fine. I sweep the hardwood and lino floors daily and use a dollar store wisk brush on the furniture with some febreeze to kill doggie smell.
