Damnit - Loose Bulldog.

All morning there has been an intact male bulldog running around. He's GORGEOUS. In great shape. He's dragging a leash, and I got close enough to grab him but he was so freaked out I didn't know if he'd bite or not. As I saw him going by, I noticed another dog walker, I ended up getting between her, her dog, and this bulldog. He had his hackles up and was grumbling... But obviously very scared... His head has some old scars on it, and he ran into the GSDs yard that has an invisible fence - he left really quick.

Really hope I catch him... Especially with the idiots like the ones I made the post about yesterday running around with their own bulldogs.

He's been out for hours, and I haven't seen anyone looking for him.

Ah man, thinking about it, he's a reddish color, he MIGHT belong to the breeders a few streets over who breed "Pure Red Noses"... Would explain him being so skittish.

steevytraunse 03-18-2010 05:18 PM

Oh man.. thats not good. Just a problem waiting to happen. I hope you can grab him!

casinobonuswer 03-18-2010 05:24 PM

Ach, so do I. I'm about to go walking around... He's on the larger side, intact, in amazing shape for a pet, and scared...

steevytraunse 03-18-2010 05:25 PM

Did you call AC?

casinobonuswer 03-18-2010 05:36 PM

They were called when he was first spotted, they drove past and I haven't seen them since...

Xibizopt 03-18-2010 05:37 PM

strong smelling food. have any tuna or liver?

casinobonuswer 03-18-2010 05:50 PM

I am actually mixing some tuna with chicken in a baggie... Real stinky.

I am pretty sure he wouldn't have bitten me if I grabbed his leash, but he was so scared I didn't want to try, you know, ducking away, hackles, looking at me out of the corners of his eyes... And the fact he might have been hit and injured.

---------- Post added at 11:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:39 AM ----------

Forgot to add, the ways he's walking he seems to be favoring his hind leg.

Crap. I cannot leave this second, J is having some rather violent bowel problems and I won't crate him while he's sick...

But a man who comes by every day with his akita pulling him on a skateboard said that "There's a loose pit bull down the street, he went after us for a while."

Great. If he reports it it will be turned into a pitbull attacking a young man and his fluffy dog. KEEP YOUR DOGS CONTAINED!

BartRonalds 03-18-2010 05:58 PM

awww man J stop having sicky feelings when your mom needs to help a loose dog.

I hope your able to go grab him soon, and I prey the guy does not report that.

Aka......the pit bull was probably more interested in the rolly thing the human was on and not the human/dog itself.

casinobonuswer 03-18-2010 06:43 PM

Yeah, or he's just got high prey drive, because he had little interest in the other dog I was keeping away from him. And he ran from the GSD who went after him.

beneitpedro 03-18-2010 07:08 PM

Man, you need to move outta there!

cQT6nmEc 03-18-2010 07:15 PM

People drive me nuts the way they don't seem to care if their dogs get loose. I know when Mollie has gotten loose before, I've been (somewhat) on her heels as fast as I could be and letting the neighbors know, when I come running into their yard, why I'm there, and I'm constantly yelling for her (not that she's listening :rolleyes). But the neighbors know I'm after her and won't stop till I catch her. One of the reasons I've upped my precautions to prevent the occasional outbreaks from happening.

casinobonuswer 03-18-2010 07:18 PM

GEEZE!
A friend was about a block and a half from me, and found a female bulldog. Little red girl, cropped ears, breasts dragging the ground, very sweet. He put a leash on her and was bringing her to me and the owner, a kid (apparently skipping school) went off on him for daring to keep her from being hit by a car, since "It ain't none of you buiseness what my dogs do!" when he tried explaining she was in danger of being hit, and there were other loose dogs.

How much you want to bet she' not fixed, and possibly in heat?

I didn't see them male, hopefully he's been picked up.

i hate people http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/mad.png

i think its time for that owner to be reported to the ACO...
if one of my dogs got loose (they don't, but hypothetically)
i'd be kissing the person that kept them from getting hit.
or at least baking them brownies or something.

casinobonuswer 03-18-2010 10:23 PM

they have been, the dogs were in horrid shape, but they got a small fine and got the dogs back immediately http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/frown.png

Sparkles got loose once in the care of a friend, I about cried all over the lady who kept her safe for me.

People are going downhill these days.

---------- Post added at 04:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:23 PM ----------

Haven't seen the male. I hope he's safe.

Cajlwdvx 03-18-2010 11:26 PM

Crap I hate people. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/no2.gif I wish people would be more responsible with their dogs.

There is no excuse for letting them run loose. Do you have a leash law in your area? I hope next time they get more than a slap on the wrist, hopefully there won't be a next time. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/frown.png I hope the male is OK too.

I agree with you on this one...Chiko ran to the neighbors yard once and that was definately the last time he left him without his leash. He was little at that time.
