This is walking distance from my house. I would have let Rocky do this for free.

I don't think I would ever let/encourage Bransen to hunt something.
I try not to even let him chase birds/squirrels because I don't want him to think that chasing and/or injuring small animals is okay. I just worry that it may confuse him as to which animals are "targets" and which are pets. If that makes any sense. I wouln't want him to being chasing a muskrat or w/e and then see a cat and not know the difference. I don't know... Haha |

my dogs regularly hunt and kill rabbits at my father's house. it is the only population control they have anymore really, since there are not coyotes there too much anymore.
i always said i was going to get another .22 and do it myself (i really like rabbit) but i think the dogs get more out of it- and i don't keep little furries as pets, so i don't care if they want to eat little furries. OTOH though, when we go to petco, they all look at the little furries in the cages, but not in the same way, they look, they watch, then they get bored and walk away. although sometimes Tank will start offering tricks when we get to the ferrets. i think he's under the impression that with the right trick, i'll get him one. (hey, it works for the toys and the cookies!!) |
