I would guess yellow lab pitbull mix from the avatar. And yes a bit on the chunky side.

A little help please?

I would like some help identifying the type of dog my puppy is. I've had 3 different explanations by self proclaimed experts (ASM, APBT, American bulldog) and i was hoping someone in this community could help me out?
I'd really appreciate any helpful comments or words of wisdom.

Do you have a pedigree?

If not, there is no way to say for sure. We can make some educated guesses, if you post a picture, but there is always a chance the dog is a mix of something.

Turbo-ip 11-04-2010 04:00 AM

I dont have a pedigree. I know I ccan't know for sure but I'd like some educated guesses..... as for picture.... well this makes me sound dumb but I'm not really sure how to upload them.... they are apparently too big...

quack! 11-04-2010 04:03 AM

If you go to photobucket and upload them, they will help you make them smaller.

thank you that helped I will put more pics of her up as soon as I can. Her picture is up as my avatar for my profile I think.... I hope.

She looks like a possible pit bull mix, but not sure what she's mixed with.

Ifroham4 11-04-2010 04:40 AM

based on the muzzle, she could be a pitbull lab mix http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png hope this helps

Turbo-ip 11-04-2010 04:51 AM

That would be funny because my family raises labs..... She doesn't really have that body type or personality but then again every dog is different..... I had a guy who breeds Staffies swear up and down thats what she is..... but I know she isn't a purebred dog (that doesn't matter to me at all) so i am really curious. She is big for her age (I think)

Cajlwdvx 11-04-2010 05:11 AM

She is adorable! I would guess lab/pit bull mix as well. Or shepherd/pit bull mix. Just enjoy her. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

Turbo-ip 11-04-2010 05:18 AM

Yeah i see her compared to other dogs all the time and my friends say she is just gorgeous so I agree. I'm not much a breeder or vet but at 5 months she is 46 pounds..... any ideas about how big she could be? I just had a guy say she looked like an american bulldog staffordshire terrier mix..... does that seem realistic?

quack! 11-04-2010 05:32 AM

I don't really see that mix, but you never know. It's all up in the air.

That is pretty big.

Turbo-ip 11-04-2010 05:35 AM

Yeah I really didn't know what i was getting into...... But I like her a lot just as she is. Her size is quite amusing because she can still play with my Mother's teacup Mautese (Which weighs a staggering 4 and a half pounds) and not hurt her. I've just been doing some research with her. Any kind of fitness and nutrition advice in general?

EzekelEnzino 11-04-2010 05:47 AM

looks like it could be a APBT or Amstaff Mix of some kind that picture she looks a little heavy but with her laying like that could be very deceiving. A good food lots available on the market does not have to be the most expensive just do not want alot of corn fillers just have to compare food I am sure you will get lots of different advice on that I am sure what your family feeds the labs would be fine and daily walks long walks till she is tired at the minimum then you can get into all kinds of stuff read about flirt poles on here also some use treadmills

Turbo-ip 11-04-2010 05:53 AM

yeah she has been eating the same as the labs (Pedigree small crunchy bits) and she is a little heavy but is growing very quickly..... I take her jogging with me 4 days a week and walk her at the park at least 2. Thanks I will look into that other stuff.

Ifroham4 12-03-2010 07:17 AM

46 lbs. at 5 months is pretty big. How tall is she? Also when was she born? If she is a rescue, it can be hard and she could very well be younger or older.

cQT6nmEc 12-03-2010 09:54 PM

She's a cutie. I would say pit bull mix as well. You'll never know for sure, but she is adorable!

Turbo-ip 12-03-2010 10:10 PM

She was born October 9. and when i got her she was only 8 weeks old. I know her age for sure. She isn't quite as tall as my labs..... I dont think she is above knee height on me (But I am also 6'3'') She has endless energy and a good work ethic as far as running is concerned. No signs of agressiveness yet. Only heard her growl once and that was when one of the labs tried to take her sock toy. I consider her a rare find and I only find 100 dollars for her. Thanks Mollie's Nana for the compliment.
