Default 1st experience with PBAD
Ok, well, I'm home from an exciting day in Memphis TN, and exhausted! I'm not big on going to Memphis, too many people that DO NOT know how to drive, and too many people. But, I wasn't driving!!

This was the first time I've ever been to a Pit Bull Awareness Day event, so I didn't know exactly what to expect. It was awesome!! I've never been licked by so many dogs as one time! I had an absolute BLAST!!! It wasn't quite what I was expecting, they had it at basically a pet store, but not one like PetCo, much nicer! I was expecting something more outdoorsy, kinda like a flea market type setting or something with booths set up to visit. I don't know if that's what happens at any of them or not, but like I said, I didn't know what to expect, I was pleasantly satisfied with this one! This was inside, which was nice, being as it was in the 40's when we left home.

There was a guy there that was involved with the Justice For Gage cause, handing out fliers, and there were probably around 10 pit bulls there. I fell in love with them all. I took pictures of all of them, and wrote down their names. I will post them Monday or Tuesday and tell you my experience with each of them. It was so much fun!

The pet store carries Innova and Innova Evo, Wellness, and California Natural (or Nature?). Anyway, I talked to the guy that runs it, and he is well aware of quality food vs. crap food, so that was good, so if I decide to switch Mollie over to Innova, I know where to go. I read the ingredients of Innova and the California formula, and liked them both.

There were some cool dogs there, and I got to meet Julie Perry, she is on pitbullconnect@aol.com, and she said she is a member here, so I'm gonna look her up. I also met a dude that rescues dogs that are basically on death row, his name is Mario, and he also said he is on here. He has a dog that does agility, so I wanna find out when he's gonna be doing that in Memphis and go. Julie said they are starting a Pit Bull Awareness walk each month, which will be rotated between Memphis, and two cities in Mississippi. I'm gonna try to go to the ones in Memphis. I will post pictures Monday or Tuesday in the Photography section. I wish I had gotten a pic of Mario and Julie, and the guy that does the Gage thing, (I didn't even find out his name!) but I was focused on taking pics of the dogs!

More later, time to take a nap right now!

Cool! I wish we could attend one. I've got to come up with a way to sew a hospital mask on to a muzzle so we can bring a dog to events without them catching anything and passing it to Raven! lol Gaud... it's hard enough keeping one on Raven without trying to keep one on a dog, too! lol I can't wait to see the pictures!

That would be cool Zoe if you could go. I didn't take Mollie due to her selective DA. I'm glad I didn't because it gave me a chance to love all over the dogs there, which she probably wouldn't have liked. I would love to take her, because she loves people so much, and she would love the attention, I just don't trust her around strange dogs. At least I'm responsible enough to know that, and not be saying, "Well, she will be fine, let's take her and see how she does". I would have been even more exhausted, and we probably wouldn't have stayed as long. I took pictures of their lizards and cool looking fish. They also had Guinea Pigs and gerbils. I think I even took pictures of the Guinea pig!

No doubt! There's been way to many incidents at such events. The only dog I would take out of my crew to such an even would be Arez. She loves other dogs although if one attacked her, she'd think it was the best thing since sliced bread and scrap right back! lol She's not an instigator though. lol They actually were having some kind of Halloween pit bull parade here but I know most the dogs are rescue dogs, or coming from a household with fosters out of the shelter system so it just gets risky for us. :/ It would kind of rock not bringing a dog though and getting to love up on the rest of them! lol
