Shelter needs cat food asap.

The Lifesaving Dept of our shelter is in need of donations of wet and dry CAT food. If you can donate any, it is much apprecialed. We have wonderful people to foster Philly cats and kittens and they just need food. Thank you!Bring Food to 111 Hunting Park Ave

Is there another way to donate? There's no way I can get there without a vehicle and with a 2 year old.

Would you accept an already-opened bag of cat food? I have a basically full bag at which my cat turned his nose up and I haven't thrown it away because I hate to waste it.

you'll have to call the shelter and ask. I just pass along the info. I'd say they will take anything healthy for cats and put it in a tupperware container or something not sure.

Someone with a car want to pick up the food and take it?

Really i just pass along this info, i'm not in charge and don't own a car. There must be a way for you to work it out. If not pass the info to those who can. sorry

Those of you who can't get there -- is there a pet supply store in walking distance? Some stores have become donation drop-off locations, and volunteers go by when they can and pick up donations. Pabby's Pet Pantry in Horsham is an example of a store that does this for us.

If there is a store, but it's not a drop-off location, PM me the name, and I can ask Lifesaving to contact them and ask if they'd like to host a drop-off box.

Anyone who doesn't have transportation, I'll pick up, just PM me and address or meeting place and some good times to pick up. I'm going to be in the city all day tomorrow and probably Sunday. I checked with ACCT and their Lifesaving Department is open til 6pm every day.

i volunteer at ACCT and would be happy to pick up donations... if you PM me your address/phone number we can coordinate a time ... i will also find out this morning if they accept open bags

the following is a response from the lifesaving department at ACCT to the question, "do you accept open-bag food donations?"

"if the bags are ripped or slightly opened, yes, but typically not if it's an open half-used bag or really damaged."
