Hi saywot; another way is to just click on the "new posts" button, top left hand of the default setup.
It will show all the posts made since you last logged in, it's a quick glance to pick up which threads you are interested in.
I now just right click each of the ones I follow with "open in new tab" and bypass the rest ... then can read each one at my leisure and close that tab once finished with it .. that saves the back and forthing that some are complaining about.

Oh! It took me so long to type my reply that Ilago's appeared in the meantime.

I'm just back from town with a basket of comestibles and now it's back to work.

I'd have to say that your response had quite a bit more detail than mine though

Thanks Ilago and Helix that did the trick, so easy. I had been looking everywhere but hadn't stumbled on those settings. Thanks jj too I will give your suggestion a go as well.

A quick question for Helix (or anyone else who recognises what I am about to describe).
It is an invertebrate with a gazillion legs .. ie more than 8.
It has an elongated flat body shape, similar to a centipede; the legs are long and flexed.
I am thinking it is to centipedes as daddylonglegs are to spiders.

Somethign with "scut" or scutellaria or ... well ... I have no idea really.

I will take a picture of it if I must, but am a bit on the time-poor (how's THAT for ghastly) side right now ... a neighbour wants to know and I am going to return it shortly.

Scutigerimorph is the word you're after, I think, aka house centipede.

Thank you Helix; Ijust couldn't get enough of it to get any searches to work ... you'd have laughed (or not) at some of the results.
(eg ... Did you mean slut?)

Scutigeromorph.

AKA House centipede. They're creepy looking but harmless.

I like being able to post links.

Good on you verification never hurts

Good night for now ... ALF and my Auntie are in hospital ... nothing serious for ALF at least. Auntie is in the deeps, so sad, realising her independent life is probably coming ... has come ... to a halt and possibly the end. I'm the designated informer ... so to let people know how she is and that she herself says ... please no visotrs I just can't find the energy. Coming from the vivacious, gregarious person that she really is, people know she is low.
