LOL I want to find a decent webhost that won't charge me an arm and a leg for domain and web space. A lot look cheap until they clump all the months together into one payment.

godaddy
If you're wanting to go the COMPLETELY free route, then i suggest freebeehosting.
I think freebeehosting might also have paid hosting plans, and they seem to be low on pricing

GODADDY sucks as webhost.
But if cheap is what you are looking for..

actually even cheap, you can still do better than godaddy. I have my domains at godaddy but I do NOT host anything on godaddy. hosting is elsewhere. ALWAYS

Web Hosting:IX WEB HOSTING:Best Web Hosting Site:Webhosting Provider

This is where I have ALL my websites hosted. Right now they have a deal going on for basic hosting for $3.95/mo and it includes free domain name reigstration. I would go with the full featured with $7.95 though.

If you do decide to go with them I hope you are kind enough to use the link I posted. I provide you with info. You help me at least make a commission. I think it's fair.

and since if you go with ixwebhosting for $3.95 and you get domain for $0,
I would say

ixwebhosting - $3.95 + $0 = $3.95 (first month)

is much better than

godaddy $4.74 + $1.99 = $6.73 (first month)

The difference is Godaddy has a full range of products for online business.

I can be a Godaddy reseller and charge cheaper than your price too.

actually I am NOT a reseller. it's just an affiliate program. I can't provide any special discount.
that price I post is their regular price.

so comparing godaddy's regular price and ixwebhosting's regular price, godaddy is more expensive.
and ixwebhosting is full featured and gives a nice control panel where customers can mainatain mysql database
it has php5, and blah blah yakitty yak, and bunch of shiznits.

and this is not a competition. we are just trying to help Dana find a good hosting for cheap price.

I dont select webhosting or domain on the basis of price factor alone cuz I use other stuff besides domain and hosting and Godaddy suits me fine

I'm checking out that Freebee site.
"Free" the ultimate cheap.

Most Endorsed FREE Website Hosting Provider | Free Website Hosting
that's one that I hear about more often when it comes to free. so check that one out as well.

Data, don't forget though that there are important things to look at wether you are going pay hosting or free hosting.
PHP5, FTP, and maybe SFTP, MySQL, Webmail with imap (if you are going to use it instead of just using gmail or yahoo.)

Another note,
If you are going to use the free hosting sites, remember that you will not get your own .com
they will give you a [username].freehosting.com

But that will not be an issue since if you goto godaddy or your domain registrar, you can do a "forward"
so when people type in DanasData.com you can have it go directly to DanasData.freehosting.com
and you can choose to do the "masking" so the url in the url box won't change to DanasData.freehosting.com
but will stay displayed as DanasData.com even when it's really on some free hosting site or any site.

When you use free hosting services then expect to see adverticements, banners and pop-up windows by the host.

I agree and it has long been an issue with anything free. But according to words of a friend who had site hosted on 110mb for long time he says there are no ads.
