Installing Fonts
I need help on installing fonts, and the stuff I search aren't helping. I know you're supposed to go to Fonts in Appearance and Personalization and right click then click on Install New Font, but the font I wanted to install isn't in the folder I thought it would be in the pop up. what am I doing wrong?
EDIT: I have to unzip it right?? |

its much easier to download to the font, cut the folder from its location and paste it in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Fonts |

thanks I Hope that works and I don't have to pay to make it work :P
|
it's only a truetype font...how do I make it an open type?
|
You can't. Open type and TTF are two different formats for fonts. It would simply be easier to search for the font you want to use as an OpenType, but you will likely have to pay for it. Given that the print industry uses TTFs on a regular basis I doubt you're going to see a difference between the formats.
For font management, do a keyword search on The Font Thing -- it's a great management program with install/uninstall features, and you can keep the fonts you've downloaded in a separate folder to locate them more easily. tim http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/eek.gif |
