Video drive? Do you mean a DVD drive?

Nzmoafzn 09-28-2007 04:08 AM

Nope. My video drive

JulieSmithXIV 09-28-2007 04:08 AM

Do you mean your video card driver? If not, tell me what brand this "video drive" is and what model #.

hhynmtrxcp 09-28-2007 04:09 AM

yeah video card driver

Sakkola 09-28-2007 04:10 AM

What makes you think you can't install it? What's happening? I mean, if you are viewing the monitor, there is SOME driver installed.

Mediconlinee 09-28-2007 04:14 AM

It says found new hardware. Video controller(VGA Compatible) but then it says that it wasnt installed because it cant find the right software

wmtravelservice 09-28-2007 04:15 AM

Hmmm...interesting.

mpegdvdclip 09-28-2007 04:15 AM

Did you just install this new video card? If so, you need to insert the disc that it came with. If not, and all of a sudden this message popped up, you need to goto your device manager and see if the video card has any kind of conflicts or if it says it's not functioning properly, otherwise, if none of the above occured, I wouldn't worry about it unless it KEEPS happening everything you turn the PC on.

Frjrbefd 09-28-2007 04:16 AM

Yeah it is. I cant play any games.

nizcreare 09-28-2007 04:17 AM

It keeps happening. I was able to play games a few days ago then this happened and i cant play and games. It says its not installed and not working properly

Madjostok 09-28-2007 04:17 AM

No its not new it came with the computer and ive had it for a long time

CenICrerflind 09-28-2007 04:19 AM

Dont have the CD

Beedcardabeme 09-28-2007 04:19 AM

You need to either take out your Video Card CD, or, if it's a Dell/Compaq/HP or any prebuilt system, take out the resource CD and try to reinstall the video card, but tell it to look on the CD.

Saqwnht 09-28-2007 04:38 PM

Then you will need to find out what kinda video card it is. Is it an add-on, or are you using the one built into your motherboard? If it's the one built in to your motherboard, then you should be able to use the Windows XP (or whatever Op system you are using) CD, or if you have a CD for the motherboard itself, you can use that one. Otherwise, if you added the video card on, then you need to find out the manufacturer, i.e. NVidia, ATI, or whomever it is, and what model it is and goto their website and download the driver.
