Some pretty glowing reviews, some minor problems like flaky wi-fi (which seems to be getting more common on Apple computers these days...) and the screen being too reflective. These bad boys hit Europe this month, can't wait to have a go.

Ok my friend came over last night with his brand new iPad. I'll give it a quick review for y'all.
When you pick it up, you know this is the future, it's beautifully made, lovely to use, the interface is spot on and so intuitive. The sound is disappointing though, very quiet for a unit so large, I would've thought it would match a laptop but it doesn't - don't get me wrong, the sound is crystal clear but its sooooooo quiet. The screen is beautiful, very bright and easy to look at. Using it feels like something out of Star Trek. This is definitely the future of interactive content. The OS is as you'd expect from Apple, a doddle to use. Very intuitive, and if you've used an iphone you'll get it immediately. But where this thing shines is apps. Oh my God the apps are just incredible. For those who love social media, there's an app called FlipBook which pulls together all of your social media and displays it like a magazine, so easy to read and use. Browsing the internet is easily the best user experience I've ever had - it's so fast and so great to look at. Reading lengthy pages is just so easy, and the finger controls are perfect - there's nothing else like it for browsing. And the games, they're out of this world. the graphics are superb and the screen is just a delight to use and play. One game in particular, we played for about 5 hours called Orbital - check it out. It didn't even feel like we were playing an electronic computer device, it seemed beyond that somehow. The battery lasted all evening with lots of game play and volume and screen brightness on full - that was about 6.5 hours or so. And there was still 21% left. So quite impressive. Overall, the iPad is stunning. I won't be getting one though, as I have a laptop and a desktop and iPhone already. But for those who don't have a laptop, this is the perfect companion for your desktop machine. Perfect for relaxing on the sofa and browsing, playing games or even learning (the learning experience is incredible thanks to a bunch of scientific apps.) Easily deserves a 10/10. |

I, Not a fangirl - that said, I just might be one now.... the iPad has already changed the way I do my work - the iPad is here to stay! I love my iPad. It has almost completely replaced my personal computer. For the things I do... Is is perfect! Much nicer than any CPU I have ever owned. All my other computers would do a lot of things I would never use it for, and do it painfully in the process (slow, buggy, etc.). When you get down to what you do most on you personal computer... the iPad does almost all of the things an average user needs, and with a much much nicer U/I. Easy of use, fast, and efficient. The other computer manufacturers could learn a thing or two from this, but even if they do... they will probably screw-up the one they come out with by adding all the crap back in again. Ugggggg!!!! I am sticking with my iPad. I think other will do the same once they try it and realize it is the perfect personal computer :-) And some of my collections: http://www.ifunia.com/ipad-column/index.html www.ipadhelpguide.net/ make the cool device more fun. |
