In Times Square!! One of the busiest places in the country if not the world.

This will be the third type of incident to happen in Time Square in the past five years. (including the bomb threat)

it's horrible but not surprising. also 4 blocks from times square. could have been a lot worse

Did you forget to count the time someone actually did set off a bomb that damaged the military recruiting station in Times Square. I assume you are counting the shootout of a year or so ago.

This is why I laugh when cops get shot because of the sh%t they do. All they had to do was shoot the man in the leg not kill him

A crazy man was in the streets yelling at police with a knife in his hands and they told him to put the knife down. So they can see the man was somewhat crazy so why not shoot in the leg so that he could fall and then they will arrest him and recover the knife. How was the police life in danger when the man had a knife?

You try to shoot a moving crazy person in the leg, the police don't get paid enough to do that.

Hmm let's see. Maybe they didn't want to open fire because they were in the middle of Times Square on a Saturday afternoon?

They're all trained for "center mass" shots, NOT in the limbs, since that only works in the freaking movies.

I may be off here because this is just hearsay, but I've been told that in some countries or areas (such as Western Europe), police are trained to disable/wound, not use center mass shots by default. May be totally wrong though...
