US quashes military drills with IDF but engages Egypt for same
 

In a well publicized mess up, a long planned joint US IDF military exercise planned for this year was put on the shelf by either the US or te IDF. The US sent its CJCoS (Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff) to Israel to assuage any fears that weren't going to feed the Jews to Iran. In the meantime a military officer has presented himself to the Egyptian senior staff for possible military exercises with them.

Note, Lt Gen Wolff after a fairly diverse career in and out of staff and command roles, seems headed towards the top of the staff command tier. He may be in line or already on the short list for CJCoS.
