I did 30 years ago and the savings bonds have come due. Not that I would buy them this year.

We all loan them money. Its called taxation. Many of us get it back, though the government enjoys the interest, due to deductions and credits.

Do you remember the old cartoons when the hands started spinning so fast the clock broke and the face popped off and springs were hanging out? When I think of the debt clock that is what I picture.
