He's rushing home from Switzerland to lead the charge!!!!
Yeah, it's almost as pathetic as rushing Cheney from his "undisclosed location" when a tie vote needs to be broken in the Senate.

Remember that so-called “agreement” drafted by the Senate “moderates — the gang of 14 — which brokered a deal in which Republicans would not use the “nuclear option” to break a filibuster in exchange for Democrats agreeing not to filibuster qualified judicial nominees? It appears the Democrats have short-term memory lapse. Despite that fact that Judge Samuel Alito answered more questions than any recent Supreme Court nominee and has a stellar legal background, Democrats such as John Kerry and Ted Kennedy are using the F-Word: filibuster. The big question is how will Senate Republicans respond Dem's Lie AGAIN! - anyone shocked?

In fairness, neither Kennedy nor Kerry were a part of the "gang of 14". The entire Dem congressional delegation is not a party to that agreement.

That said, I think Kerry is being a major drama hound here.

Yeah .. Kerry's location wasn't undisclosed .. he was probably out skiing and creating another photo opportunity like he did in 2004 during his campaign [using taxpayer's dollars].

The Democrats won't try to filibuster. A few liberal assholes like Kerry and Kennedy make noises as they pass gas but that is about it for the Democrats.
There is nothing they can do and for that matter want to do.
Love your sig!

I like Kerry. He can win the nomination but not the election and he looks so French! Cool guy

may be somebody think he is a colorless, indecisive wimp,

but i think John kerry is a good guy.

I think Kerry is making a mistake here as are any Dems looking to filibuster Alito. Simply predicting Alito to be a Big Brother rubberstamper is insufficient cause. Bush and the Republican majority in the House and Senate won their seats. The American people through the ballot box knew the SCOTUS was an issue last election and each side expressed their views as to what kind of Justices they wanted when electing the current Congress and POTUS. The people chose accordingly. Whether America is making good or poor decisions in this regard, so be it.

This is the first time ever, that a U.S. Senator, (John Kerry) called for a fillibuster, from a 5 star ski resort in Sweden, ha.ha.

Some of these democrats have run amuk of their own party. There is no organization between them. They end up doing much more damage than good.

This doesn't look good to John Q. Public.

Well, yes, it will show the full American public just how bad the Democrats are... after you remind these citizens just what the Supreme Court is and what they do, then explain the confirmation process to them, remind them who Samual Alito is, then explain what a filibuster is...

Now - if the full American public hasn't gotten completely bored and switched over to Amercian Idol yet, now you can explain to them why this is all so important, and how it affects them personally. Still got their attention? Eh, maybe a few Americans are still listening to you, but most of them have gone off to bed, because they have a long day tommorow.

I think you give the public too much credit. The average joe on the street - the majority of the public - doesn't give two craps about this stuff.
Nor, do these people whom are watching American Idol care about voting. The ones who are watching this more than likely will make certain they head to the polls. People who vote are usually more informed than those that don't. That's why talk of a filibuster will hurt them.

Switzerland. Even I wouldn't mind being at a Swedish ski resort with the Swedish Bikini Ski Team. It just seems to me that he might want to be in-country when the next SC justice is being debated. I think that might be what he is getting paid to do. Maybe???

That's why I want to see a filibuster returned to being a filibuster, rather than just a procedural bullshit move. Let Teddy read from the phone book for 24 hours without spilling his drink all over.

Ditto--I don't think John Kerry really thinks much about where he is at when he says something. We have seen this out of him since Viet Nam. He always in the wrong place with the wrong statement. He's lucky he resides in MA, no other state in the country would have tolerated him this long.

I'm curious as to how much time he actually spends in MA, or this country for that matter.

Yeah, all this stupid crap plays well at election time.
God bless Senator Kerry!
We Republicans love him along with Ted Kennedy.
Hell poly ticks would be dreary without them.
What happened to Howard Dean?
Sombody stick a sock in his mouth?
I love the guy.

OK, it's all over.
The Democrats have lost another one, as the Senate just voted to cut off any further debate on Alito nomination. Tomorrow is the vote.
The unborn children of America can rest a bit easier because Roe V Wade will soon be history.
We need one more liberal supreme court justice to retire or drop dead so we can have a very conservative court for the next 20 years or so.
Whoohoo! Another win for the good guys!

OK, everybody, all together, everybody cheer for Gadfly.

ONE TWO THREE WHOOPEE.He was finally right. "Course it had to be on something that 90 odd percent of us knew all along, ant the other ten percent were just whistling "Dixie" and Hoping the Dems would pull it off. They didn't. But again we got to give Gadfly credit for being right (for once)
