John Inman who starred as Mr Humphries in Are You Being Served and who became a gay icon on both sides of the Atlantic died last week.

This deserves a post if only because Inman will be remembered by many viewers probably more than any other TV actor of his day.

Funnily enough I never understood that he was gay growing up and watching the show ocassionally.
