Default Long Lens Cameras: Practical Use & Potential
Amazing what you can do with a good camera these days...

And, if you want, check out the thread they linked to.

What a couple of losers!

Re: this thread, originally in News forum, entitled, "Not so fast there, Skippy..." (Involved a long-lense camera that captured a hit-and-run accident.)

- I temporarily renamed it. Since you are the author, you can give me a different (descriptive) name if you wish, and I'll change the title.

- As you can see, I moved it to Anything Goes. If you want to lead the thread in the direction of news, please let me know, and I'll move it back to News.

- Your link broke and I removed it. Since there was no accompanying text to the link, you may want to add a working link and more text to the first post.

Again rap, I have no idea WHERE the link originally came from, so removing the entire thing makes it nearly impossible for me to update it.

I appreciate the effort, but please try using a lighter touch when moving/editing things. A lot gets lost in the translation (both verbal and positional!)

Also, the story had very little to do with the practical uses of long lens cameras.....

>sigh<

- Your title of your thread, "Not so fast there, Skippy," was non-descriptive. It needs to be renamed so that a search could be better facilitated. (I am still waiting for you to give me a new name.)

- Your original link was broken and non-descriptive.

- You did not post the actual article.

- I moved it from News to Anything Goes because from what little I could glean, the latter seemed to suit the topic better.

- The topic received zero responses in News, and it sunk way down the forum. You showed no sign of updating it or reviving it.

- You ignored my past PM to you about this topic; you are first showing your dissatisfaction in public now.

These reasons, in total, are enough to close this topic. Instead, we can try to revive it by attempting to fetch the original link and posting the content. Let me know if you'd like to do this.

The link, before it was broken, showed something that was captured using that camera NOT a critique on the camera itself.

The search of the OT could have been done with the base address of the dated link. Now that it has been removed, I canot go back to the homepage of the site I got it from and backtrack to get an updated link.

Do whatever you want Rap. Please spare me the bullet points, you are not making me like your decision any more.

It seems there's a bit of misunderstanding here ...

I think I remember NH's original post on this thread -- it had a link to a pic from the new Google Map Street Level thingy -- and was a pic of a guy taking a leak by the side of a road.

It was pulled from Google after a couple of days (as were a bunch of other pics that were deemed to have invaded the privacy of others).

It was a funny post. But once Google pulled the pic the thread had no reason for being. And there is no way to revive it.

So ...

One could either let it wither into the corner of wny OR one could kill it and sweep it up and throw it away.

No doubt I've got a bunch of threads I started that no one has shown interest in. If it serves wny to delete those threads (for whatever reason) then I have no problem with that. Chances are if I haven't bumped a dormant thread then I have no interest in it any longer and really can't be bothered to maintain / update it.

If it is considered "bad form" to post a weird item as a new thread then I apologize. Sometimes I run across something that strikes me as funny / interesting and want to share it. Sometimes they generate interest and take off. Many times they don't.

If it's my responsibility as the Original Poster to keep a thread going then please let me know that and I'll take appropriate action.

That was a post in the Google Earth thread, but yes, it's the same situation - a candid street scene that was eventually pulled.

One could either let it wither into the corner of wny OR one could kill it and sweep it up and throw it away. Let sleeping dogs lie.

If it is considered "bad form" to post a weird item as a new thread then I apologize. Nope.

If it's my responsibility as the Original Poster to keep a thread going then please let me know that and I'll take appropriate action. Not anyone's responsibility, but anyone can revive any dormant thread if they have something to add to it.

And, although this one was funny Loft, It was not the one I was looking at.

I have no idea now what the original link was, but suffice to say t was not an expose on the uses of telephoto lenses...
